Riks Mahal

I tried lamb biryani rice, mie mamak and falouda tonight. Since i got the last batch of lamb biryani rice, some of the rice had became dry, so a bit tough to chew..but i still like the taste. The lamb were nice and the lamb curry was also amazing. The mie mamak is a bit tangy for me, so not quite right for my palate, still pretty good. The falouda was nice too, not too sweet...although it looked so sweet from the syrup and the ice that they put. The place was quite accomodative.

The lamb curry is a must try for sure, you wont be disappointed.

I came here randomly on a cold evening. Got myself a masla chai, it was amazing. I came back and got take away here very randomly. Very homely cooking. 10/10. Service was great also. Very mom/pop service.

I drove 40 minutes to this place and will do so again without hesitation. Great Indian food to be had here.
Like any Indian restaurant, you have a wide selection of curries, bread and rice. You'll be scratching your head deciding what to order if you're coming here on your first visit.

I suppose the best things are the simple dishes and that's where riks mahal shines. I'm a Malaysian, and i know my roti. At Riks mahal, rotis are excellent. Rolled, spread and folded with the right thickness giving you a nice bite into the dough. It's chewy, and cooked just right. Not too burnt. And the accompanying curries? Go for the fish curry. You won't regret it. Plain roti is good. But egg roti is better 👌

*Update 2019 - banana roti is now on the menu. If you've not had any before. This is the time for it.

Outstanding Malaysian South Indian food. Great service and attentive staff.

I really like chicken65 and garlic nanng, it's amazing. The butter chicken is a bit too sweet for me.

Very delicious food! The way the owner treats his customers is very impressive! I can recommend the roti and lamb curry. Will come again to this restaurant from Switzerland. You guys nailed it!

Been wanting to try this place for a while, just had lunch here. Got the 2 meat & 1 veg curry lunch special with rice and a pappadum. Beef rendang, lamb Riggan Josh and vegetable korma seemed like a nice mix. Very authentic flavours and a little heat, needed more, I should've asked. Friendly service and all for under $15. Happy days

These guys make some quality food! Flavours are off this planet in their dishes and everything is fresh. Service is really good as all the staff are warm and welcoming. Very reasonably priced and serving portions are perfect too! Good location too with a lot of parking available for those quick take away days/nights ;) It's my go-to for Indian in the south east.

Always my favourite lunch spot in Narre. The Mamak mee goreng and the chicken 65 are my go-to hot dishes here.

The place to go for authentic, not watered down for the masses food. Huge hoppers, seeni sambal (though it was a bit sweet for my taste) coconut sambal and the Sri Lankan meat curry was delicious. Hands down best chicken tandoori we've had for a long time, feels like other places slap Pataks on their tandoori chicken compared to this. Highly recommended. They have another restaurant in Burwood that I've been to a few times which is excellent, first time to the one in Narre Warren and the food is spot on the same. Well done.

The tandoori chicken was seriously delicious. It had much more flavour than any other tandoori I've had in Melbourne (and I've tried a few). It was more of a dry tandoori so I ordered a roti meal with curry sauces and dahl to go with it. Which hit the spot. Their roti is homemade not the packet stuff. Soft and slightly sweet. I also tried the hoppers and I've never had hoppers this good. The coconut sambal was so yum with it. Usually I'm ambivalent towards sambal but this one was good. Not too hot. Its a humble place but the best Indian/ Sri Lanka I've tried in Melb.

My go to for Teh Tarik….. and always a friendly smile.
