Thornton General Store

Stopped for some breakfast on the way from Mansfield and was not disappointed. Family run store, Serves hot food, coffee, general grocery and fishing items. Chicken wraps were hot and fresh. They make sandwiches as well. Coffee was not as good as you get in Melbourne but we were happy to find some anyways. Friendly service.

This is great for take away food. Always fresh and tasty. Enjoyable. Worth waiting a couple of minutes while its cooked. Baymarie is available and the food has a quick turnover.

Quite possibly the best pastie I've ever eaten. What a surprise! There is nothing but quality ingredients in this thing. The only improvement would be a home made sauce, but that's just getting picky? Lovely service too... thanks!

Pies are absolutely delicious!! Really good range of hot food, fresh made sandwiches and rolls, big fridge full of drinks. Try the bacon and egg rolls for brekky. Really good! Massive range of fishing gear and general groceries too.

Must stop for coffee if you're in the area! Excellent local crafts and lots of food to stock up on too. Staff are super friendly. Fishing supplies to boot as well.

Apple crumb muffins and the world class coffee are the main reason I go there, but theres much more like: brekkie wraps, sandwiches, pantry items, basic camping gear, and a wall full of fishing lures, batteries.

Their pies are meaty, delicious and very reasonably priced. The charge for tomato sauce is nominal, great value.
