Hotel-Restaurant Metzgerwirt

During our five-day skiing trip, our stay at this hotel was a highlight, marked by comfort (very comfortable bed even with back problems), cleanliness, and outstanding service. The culinary offerings were exceptional, including a special menu thoughtfully designed for our New Year's Eve celebration, which catered beautifully to both non-vegetarian and vegetarian tastes. When I fell ill, the staff's extra care, like providing hot soup for my sore throat, was heartwarming. Perfectly located for skiing, with delicious breakfasts and meals, this hotel's detail-oriented, friendly staff made our experience unforgettable.

A note for guests with mobility challenges: the hotel does not have an elevator. However, given the staff's demonstrated willingness to assist, I am confident they would be eager to accommodate and help solve any issues that arise. Overall, highly recommended for a memorable stay. 😊

One of the best restaurants in Austria I have been to. The staff is very welcoming and kind. Do not miss this restaurant when traveling through Carinthia!

Restaurant staff is friendly and attentive. Serving tap water is not an issue, but best of all is the food (rheerucken is very good). After two courses, we were full and it was offered to serve cake as take-away (was included with the 3-course menu). I highly recommend this restaurant as one of the best places in the area.

I have never before tried so tasty local meals in Austria. Excelent, hearty, home-like food that speaks like local traditions and spirit of the mountain. 4 different courses and all four gorgeous! I especially recommend 4 sorten Nudel Teller!!!

Great hotel-restaraunt! Very nice owners, great food! This town is known for garnets and there is also a garnet museum within walking distance. The hotel also has garnet chocolates

We had a very pleasant stay in the hotel. The hotel lies in a very beautiful and calm little town in close proximity to various lakes, mountains, and bigger cities like Villach.
The Stadler-family manages to give you a very homely feeling. They also gave us great recommendations for various activities that can be done in the region, such as a leisurely hike to a very nice viewpoint, the so-called "Granattor". You can easily see that the owners are very connected with their region and that they are very fond of it. You can actually learn a lot about Carinthia by talking with the very friendly owners.
When it comes to the cuisine offered in their restaurant there is only one thing to be said: Excellent!
Everything is freshly prepared with products from the region. We really enjoyed discovering the typical "Kärnter" cuisine.

Everything perfect during our holiday. Breakfast is done with local products. I would recommend this structure to everyone who want a gods stay at a fair price.
