Whenever I visit Durnstein I make a reservation here and for good reason, it’s amazing! I visited most recently on a week day (I normally take trips out here on weekends) and there was no barbecue or access to the upstairs seating area so bare that in mind. It did not detract from the amazing experience you’ll be pleased to know. The views, the food, the service! I can’t recommend this place enough. What a way to spend a few hours in the sun. Can’t wait to go back!

This hidden gem of a restaurant, located just an hour away from Vienna. With its breathtaking views of the vineyard from the covered patio upstairs, and friendly staff, it sets the stage for a perfect meal. The grilled dishes and wines are a true delight. The convenience of a nearby parking lot and sandy beach adds an extra element of enjoyment and accessibility. Although prices are on the higher side, the experience is worth, especially when enjoyed with family or friends.

We had such a great experience. All staff and waiters were extremely courtious and attentive, from the time we arrived. We took seat on a table on the garden. Our grilled Forelle was delicious (a special from their weekend BBQ menu), as well as the apricot dumpling. The (Riesling) wine was obviously delicious too. Prices are on the high side, but we took it as a special treat. It was a very pleasant afternoon.

We could not have asked for a better experience. Our waiter was really great and very funny. The liver pate was stunningly delicious. The warm bread was perfect with it and the spinach dumplings were heaven. A MUST!

Best place for delicious Austrian food in Dürnstein. Make sure to order some traditional Marillenknödel. Vegan options available, dogs welcome.

Very good food, we had lovely pumpkin and beef soups plus their pulled pork and cottage breads. Great food for bikers. Swift and friendly service.

Beautiful, relaxing and welcoming ambiance, with a fresh and exciting menu. The owner and staff instantly make you feel like a local. Excellent wine list, and you can literally see the grapes growing from your table! The building itself is a piece of history, while the chef delivers a creative blend of traditional and modern flavours.

We were there during the week so were able to walk in, but definitely book in for the weekend and the Summer months. The asparagus entree was divine.

Great food, beautiful and relaxing view, and excellent service. Looking forward to dining here again.

Beautiful location and excellent food and wine! We sat upstairs on the covered patio and enjoyed the views of the vineyard and valley. The staff was outstanding with our adventurous 20-month old, too. Some of the best takes on traditional dishes that we've had!

Amazing outdoor area, delicious bbq on the weekend and awesome drinks. Best place after walking around a bit.

Absolute hidden gem in Austria. Stumbled across Jurgen today who was beyond incredible, highly recommended sitting on the outdoor terrace amongst the vines - and have a few strums!

Delicious and authentic regional dishes served embedded in Dürnstein's scenery. A recommendable experience both on inside and outside seating depending on the weather. Great and humorous service with a personal touch. Wine Selection offers the best of the surrounding hills, I highly recommend the Grüner Veltliner.

Took the ferry across the river and we asked someone where we should eat thats good. A man on the ferry worked in the area doing tours and recommended this place. It was PEFECT!!!. The food was excellent and such a nice ambiance outdoors and in.

Early evening Monday in Durnstein, and did not know most places are closed early on Monday. Some reviews were good, some very critical…mostly from two years ago. Was a little apprehensive but other places had a long wait. My concerns were unfounded. Service was prompt, friendly, nice ambience, and pretty fairly priced. Food was frankly awesome….we had a heurigen platter, and it was a lot of food. I would definitely eat there again.
