Wolfgangsee Lake

Gorgeous town to stroll along and absorb the beauty all around. Good food and lovely people. We went in June so it wasn't crowded and the weather was perfect.

This town is so cute! Little but so nice. You have a lot of places to swim, and nice shops and restaurants. There are a lot of events which makes the place really warm and friendly.

A surreal experience in this place. Not too many visitors, clear view of mountain awesome.

Must see place after Hallstat ,Highly recommended for Families.
Also take cash with you as most restaurant accepts only cash.

It has got the most mesmerizing views of many lakes from Mountain St Gilgin.

Just take bus 158 from salzburg Hbf and reach Wolfgangsee in an hour.

You can also do paragliding or take a train up to the top of the mountain.
As it is a heritage train it is little costly around 47 Euro per pax ,but the views are worth it.

You can also hike.

Beautiful lake in Salzburg, summer time is the place to be, waters are warm to swim and very clean. Easy to get too via road. Views are just great.

For me.. This is a place that I would love to visit every year.. Very quite village, peaceful,, walking distance to reach everywhere.. Resturants and coffee shops available, backery that opens early morning like 6:30 am..

I really enjoyed shopping local food and goods from the local market...

Only thing that I found is that majority of the shops and restaurants close around 6 to 7 pm... Especially around spring.. During summer maybe later.. And since business are runned by families, not always the shops will be open or daily but majority do open daily...

Seating by the lake and sipping a cup of coffee or halving a romantic walk or a tour in the lake is really something

Beautiful lake to visit. I would recommend to go around the lake, if traveling with a car, and to see all of the beautiful small places on it's shore.

Beautiful and peaceful place

Location is out of the world. Loved every bit about this place including the journey. Very scenic. Heavenly for swimming. Go fully equipped for a swim guys, can't afford to miss. Water is crystal clear. See the pics. I would definately go back next summer. Local market is too good.

This lake in Austria that lies mostly within the state of Salzburg and is one of the best known lakes in the Salzkammergut resort region. The town and the lake are named after Saint Wolfgang of Regensburg, who, according to legend, built the first church here in the late 10th century. You have multiple activities here in the summer months. You can easily walk around the lake or take a boat around.

Great stay had great weather. We will come again and we are normally no repeaters. There are tons of things to do and occasionally you see air acrobatics show from red bull.

Visited the lake back in 2017 and craved for a swim and dip but wasn’t prepared. Visited the lake again in 2022 and had great swim in the beautiful clear lake

Very nice place with a great views and you can rent a boat for an hour 30 £ and take a trip in the leak.

Awesome place and way less crowded then Hallstatt. The views are amazing here! This is definitely worth a stop.

Wolfgangsee is absolutely breathtaking, crystal clear lake, the mountain and the climate, this place has it all. I recommend Salzburg route as it goes through one of the most scenic routs in Austria, the first village to stop is Fuschl, gorgeous little village along with way and an absolute must, than Wolfgangsee and if you continue Route-158, you will get to witness Bad Ischl, a riverside town, take Route-145 to Bad Goisern, a gorgeous town by the lake.
