Gasthaus Krenn

We had a fantastic time at Gasthaus Kreen, and we wish we could've stayed longer. We were pleasantly surprised to receive a complimentary upgrade upon arrival from the hotel to the residence, and what a delightful surprise it was! Apartment number 3 had the most stunning view of the valley. The apartment was beautifully and tastefully decorated, with high-quality linens and exquisite toiletries. Our breakfast basket, filled with fresh local ingredients and delicious bread, was delivered to us every morning.

We dined at the restaurant, and it was one of our favorite meals during the trip. We even tried to return for dinner on our second night, but it was fully booked for the following evening. The Greisslerei offered an amazing selection of groceries, marinated fish, and pasta if you felt like preparing your own meal.

The staff was welcoming, friendly, and always willing to assist with anything we needed. They made sure we thoroughly enjoyed our time. Overall, it was an incredibly memorable stay and one of our favorite places.

This was the best hotel experience I have ever had - and I have stayed at incredible properties around the world including the Four Seasons. If you are looking for a tranquil, well-appointed experience with the highest service, amidst a beautiful backdrop, look no further. The restaurant was absolutely delicious as well - we both enjoyed the traditional Austrian cuisine as well as great drinks and wine. Although all the staff were very kind and friendly, Christoph was a stand out. A true servant heart and made the experience very personal. Thank you Christoph!!!

My wife and I had a excellent meal in the Gasthaus Krenn. We actually liked it so much we went back a second night running!! The food is very thoughtfully put together with classic Austrian dishes made with local ingredients and a modern twist. The atmosphere and service is very relaxed, down to earth and most importantly welcoming. We immediately felt at home. The location is in a stunning setting with beautiful views over the Steiermark. We will definitely be coming back again and would recommend that you do too!!

We stayed in an apartment at the Residenz of Gasthaus Krenn and everything was just perfect. Starting from the location with an amazing view of the Enns Valley, the ambiance of the apartment with its lovely furniture, luxurious soft furnishings and linen, the high-end kitchen equipment, the pack of magazines we found on arrival, the interesting books on the shelves and last but not least the amazing contemporary art pieces throughout the property, including at the main Guesthouse.
The staff was always helpful and friendly creating a pleasant atmosphere.
We loved the typical Austrian food at the Gasthaus and the cakes at the Greisslerei are delicious.
Whatever is on offer there is thoughtfully and carefully sourced and of high quality.
We will be back for sure!

Es war ein Traum - wir werden wiederkommen!

I am reluctant to share this hidden treasure.
Classic old world restaurant, excellent food and service. Sitting under the trees on a sunny day with an oompa band is pure magic. It is set in a beautiful but small medieval village where you park outside and walk a short distance to the restaurant. Book well in advance.

Gasthaus KRENN has it all! Cosy and authentic atmosphere, wonderful staff and excellent food. We have been coming to KRENN for many years now and it is our favorite place to eat be it in winter or summer. We go regularly to Steiermark and always make sure we get a reservation at KRENN .

The staff was very professional and friendly. Everything was fine and perfect, there was nothing to complain about (like some people bellow in comments, who are complaining like spoiled brats who feel offened for nothing). I would really recommend this gasthaus, but be carefull and try to call for reservation before you go there, it is possible that it will be full.

Gasthaus Krenn is probably one of the best places one can visit in Austria if looking for an authentic and honest experience, friendly and personal service, an amazing neighborhood and a beautiful old style country restaurant in Austria - and actually the neighboring countries.
Pürgg is almost a museum village, although it is a real life village. The old farm houses including the church are protected and justify a visit. But the highlight of all is Gasthaus Pürgg with the friendly hosts Theresia and Valerie - and if you are lucky, also with their auntie.
But its not only those two - or three - each of the team members are equally friendly, warmhearted and create a unique atmosphere. In Austrian we say “wie der Herr so ‘s Gscher” - which is similar to a fish stinks from the head - but in a positive way. Here nothing stinks. Here everything plays together to create a unique experience which one should not miss.
The food we ate (i had a gorgeous Blunz’n Gröstl - roasted blood sausage, which was probably the best I had and was especially prepared for me during the afternoon) was beautiful, portions big and left nothing to desire.

The Gasthaus Krenn also has rooms and apartments and as well a Greisslerei - a small local shop selling local produce.

This is very cozy nice and calm place to have a coffee with delicious strudl cake. Always like to drop there is it’s on my way :)

Great food, perfect place to visit and have some traditional and non-traditional local food with almost dine dining style. Local guys are really friendly.
