Landhotel Agathawirt

I was stunned at the beauty of of this small village, Agathawirt. It is in the center of some pretty premier biking areas, dependable train service to small nearby towns and in the middle of wheelspoke-type day destinations to lakes and Hallstatt salt mines. Within walking distance of the trains, is the Lovely Landhotel Agathawirt, with pool, sauna, and game room and southfacing sunroom for winter warmth. The attached gourmet restaurant would garner Michelin stars here, I'm sure, and it was a tough sell to get any of our group to eat anywhere else during our stay. The bar is tight and cozy and outside seating airy and perfect for our summer's eve dining. The entire staff was helpful and professional for our week's stay. The adjoining Bicycle rental business had gorgeous equipment and great pricing for it's service and type of bike.
If not for the nine-hour flight, I would be back in a heartbeat!

Used as an overnight stay on a bike tour. Good accomodation and helpful staff - willingly found and fetched my bag that had been delivered to the wrong hotel nearby. Good start or end point for exploring beautiful Hallstättersee (pic)

Stayed here in 2017 on a whim. Amazing. Great location amongst the mountains in the backdrop and great hotel owners (they let met extend my stay easily and were able to throw in laundry services). Next time we go to Austria, we know we'll be stopping here.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The staff was very friendly, helpful and professional. The rooms offered a comfortable overnight with a very quiet and restful sleep. The view surrounding the hotel is a great sight to wake up to. The breakfast offers a great assortment of items and is a very nice way to start the day. Considering visiting the hotel restaurant for dinner as we were both very impressed by the meals we had ordered. The curated wine list is also quite impressive. Stay here and eat here while making a day trip to Hallstatt. You won't be disappointed.

Everything was excellent, the service is 5 stars for the price, owner very nice, she took the time to go over the map and suggested very nice places to visit. Free bikes to rent, I biked to Hallstatt over a very nice trail near the lake. Also swimming pool, Sauna…

Parking can be a problem, but according to the waiter parking is allowed in front of the garages despite signs that say otherwise.

The food was delicious, the staff was friendly and the place has a great atmosphere.
