Hotel Edelweiss & Gurgl

We had a one week stay at the Edelweiss & Gurgl as a family of 4. The hotel facilities were fantastic.
Very friendly and helpful staff
Fantastic food at the restaurant especially at dinner
Spacious and secure boot room
Lovely Spa/swimming which the kids enjoyed
Location to cable car, ski school and hire could not have been closer!!
Overall a great stay.

Only minor downside was the slightly dated room we stayed in and also the water from the shower would suddenly go hot or cold unexpectedly.

Already from both arrival you feel a warm welcome. Smooth check-in to the room. The car is immediately placed in the parking lot. The room is immaculate and the meals are of gastronomic standard. Fitness room is excellent while the indoor and outdoor swimming pool are fantastic. In short, not cheap but a top hotel that is located at the foot of skiliifts

The location the hotel was perfect as the lifts were right behind the hotel. The ski room with heated lockers was spectacular. The rooms, lobby, restaurant were all beautifully furnished and decorated. We also really enjoyed the spa, pools and saunas. Food was delicious and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

We’ve stayed here for a number of years and it is always really good. Immaculately clean, super friendly service and lovely rooms. The location is ideal, pool and spa area really nice and food is very high quality. Will be back next year!

The aesthetically pleasing hotel has a homely & family feel. You can still taste the traditions of yesteryear, albeit modernised and completely up to date. Everything has been thought of to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Beautifully decorated rooms, varied food on offer, nicely equipped ski room, ski lifts nearby, everything you need is available within a 300-metre radius.
No wonder we keep returning to this hotspot in Obergurgl.

The hotel is in a prime location, excellent facilities and very helpful and friendly staff.
We had a wonderful view and the ski room was just fabulous. Just a few steps from two main cable cars.

Almost impossible to fault. Friendly staff, great location. Ski locker room is 20m from the lifts and last run home. They have boot warmers built in, which I have never experienced before, a nice thoughtful design.

The rooms vary in size and shape, which i suppose harks back to its 19th C origins. They look recently refurbished and are comfy but are too warm at night so windows left open, which seems odd to have to do.

The spa and pool area is fantastic and despite being February half term and busy with kids there was plenty of space for everyone.

Half board so breakfast and evening dinner included. Food was fantastic, 5 course meals with several options. Prices for alcohol seemed more expensive than necessary. There is a well stocked Spar next door though.

The bar area was lovely and spacious but cosy with some nice individual features. There is also a separate a la carte restaurant and outdoor dining that is great too but at mountain top prices.

It may be one of the three most expensive hotels in Obergurgl but the service and hospitality were excellent. The location is outstanding. I really felt we got value for money we and we look forwards to being back.

The hotel, staff and food were great. Friendly and the price was reasonable for what you got. Ski lift was 100 feet outside the back door. Great value!!!

Lovely hotel near the ski lift and slopes. Rooms clean and hotel well presented with excellent dining facilities. Would recommend for couples and families. Staff very polite and helpful as it was our first time in the Obergurgl area.

Had a lovely meal here. Hot plate and selection of meats, prawns, sauces and raclette cheese. Hotel bar to retire too after with late night liveners.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Edelweiss. the hotel is exceptional staff excellent, helpful and service is extremely high. Rooms are well furnished to a high standard and our cleaners were exceptionally helpful.
The restaurants serve a high standard of cuisine with a wide variety that even satisfied our very fussy children!
We will be back!

Returning again to our home from home in the Tyrol.

Delighted to report that the hotel continues to offer the highest levels of service, quality of food and beverage, and with responsive and friendly staff throughout. The addition of a coffee machine in the room was welcome as was the new option to explore associated restaurants on the mountain and get a credit against the half board evening meal.

The upgraded boot room and immediate access to the ski lifts and slopes make the start and end of the ski day a pleasure.

Thoroughly recommended and we look forward to our next visit.

Just back from yet another memorable week at Hotel Edelweiss & Gurgl. Not only was the hotel excellent on all fronts but also the snow conditions! Have already booked for next Christmas.

The best hotel in Obergurgl - cosy room, nice staff, very good wellness&spa, outdoor pool with mountain view. And the beat possible location.

We love this hotel and have stayed there nine years in a row and have already put in our form for next year.
The hotel has fabulous facilities, with its comfortable communal areas and the wonderful swimming area. We don’t use the amazing spa facilities as only nudity is permitted and we are prudish Brits!
The boot room is amazing as is the access to the slopes. Guests are truly spoilt with these facilities
The staff are incredible mixing good service and friendliness. They really make you feel important. We had a fondue one night. Brilliant experience and again with super service.
Our only slight criticism is the breakfast buffet is now served in open dishes rather than the closed ones. The bacon etc was always cold.
Overall, we just love this hotel and would never go anywhere else

We had a wonderful week at this fabulous hotel. The staff are really friendly and will do anything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The breakfast and dinner menu choices were extensive and if your dietary needs were not satisfied, they would do their best to provide an alternative.
The ski in/ski out facilities were the best we have ever experienced. Each room gets its own locker with heated boot poles and room for your skis, poles, helmet, and gloves to be 'warm & toasty' for the next morning’s ski. An escalator takes you to the ground floor where you are greeted by the end of the slope and two cable cars to take you to distinct parts of the Obergurgl resort.
The rooms were wonderfully comfortable, the bar areas extensive, and with live music most nights to add to the ambiance.
Our week coincided with the first week of the UK Easter holidays for Private Schools and so there were, apparently, seventy-seven children in the hotel. However, this did not impose on our enjoyment of the place and reinforced its qualities as both a family and adult hotel. We met many people who regularly return, and we would certainly have no hesitation in coming back again in the future.

February 2023 was our 9th visit to hotel E&G. We took most of our family which numbered 10. The hotel experience was as good as ever. Staff at reception, the bar, restaurant, room service and the ski shop were always friendly and helpful. It did not feel a forced manner but a feature of a guest centred ethos. The evening entertainments were very enjoyable. the grandchildren especially enjoyed the magician.
The ski in/out position is brilliant along with the revamped boot room. For non skiers there are excellent walks especially into the forest.
We will be visiting again.

This hotel is extremely well located. At the foot of the ski slopes. Excellent welcome and efficient. Service in the room and in the restaurant is simply top notch. Extremely friendly service in the restaurant that excels in variability and quality. A special appreciation for the world class desserts. A small remark :If you want to take a shower early in the morning, the hot water sometimes has to wait a long time. However, this is not the case for the swimming pools, which are wonderfully warm. In short, an absolute must as a top hotel. Pricey but worth every euro.Tip: choose a room facing the south

We enjoyed this hotel very much. You could not be nearer the slopes or have such easy access to skiing. The boot room is the best I have ever seen and with ski hire right beside the boot room. Fantastic.
There are quite a few dining options in the hotel so be sure you realise this (we were not made aware of this) but half board in the dining room was perfect anyway.
Great service and very comfortable rooms.

This is one of our perennial favourites and it didn't disappoint after a gap of 3 years.

The owners have clearly used the time to reinvest and refurbish without destroying the essential Austrian-experience. The room felt new and was roomy, fresh and comfortable.

Apart from the quality experience and the friendly staff, there were other great touches like the new ski/boot lockers and even escalators to take you from the boot room to the outside. No more negotiating steps when wearing ski boots!

I think the ski hire shop attached to the hotel is part of the business and if so, I really liked the way they were able to call up our binding settings and ski details from the database. Much less hassle than in the past.
