Fabulous. Structures, equipment and furnishings 600 years and older have been moved and resurrected here to give you a great sense on how people used to live here. The food in the restaurant onsite is very good as well.

An awesome place of history (real houses&other structures built 500+ years from now and moved to the Freilicht Museum from their original spots around Salzburg) situated in beautiful nature at the foot of the magical Untersberg mountain. Super fun and friendly for kids as well (train, playground) and you can easily plan the whole day for the visit.

The open air museum in Salzburg takes you to the medieval time with houses dating back up to 17 th century. After taking the tickets one can directly take the train trip from the Flachgau station. The beautiful Gaiserweg railway takes you till the end station Pongau where you can visit the old buildings. A real gem 💎 in Salzburg. Highly recommended. Entry tickets 12€ with a offer for senior citizens and children. Parking free at the premises.

It's great park, with ancient houses which have been built long time ago and preserved till nowadays. You literally can touch the history and feel yourself in a different epoch! All territory is picturesque part of Landscape.
The train is a wonderful cherry on the top of the cake. The railroad is taking you through the forest and houses to fulfill complete experience!

Well arranged and well organized. Great experience for the whole family to learn about the old times.
Only their parking lot is way too small. Make sure to be early on sunny Sundays.

Perfect for families and a day out. A wonderful and easy hike with children. The park is huge and children can visit old farm houses and cottages along the way. There is even an old train which has different stops, which was the favourite attraction of my little nephew. We also stopped at the restaurant which had fast and very friendly service and great food. The huge playground made this the perfect day out.

100% worth a stop if you are in the area. We were absolutely amazed by this place! The love, hard work and dedication to recreate this experience in such an authentic way was impressive. You really do get to experience what life was like hundreds and in some cases, thousands of years ago. Plan to spend at least 4 hours here to truly see everything, the place is HUGE. An audio guide would have been nice since all of the signs were not in English.

Beautiful and expansive natural setting with trails winding around austrian farm houses from earlier centuries.A small train takes you from the entrance to the end station and gives an overview of the whole landscape.

It was really nice experience, like walking through the past.
There is also a nice train ride that kids will like and also many paths with signs pointing to different "villages" that represent different regions of Austria.

A fantastic place to visit with lots of re-erected old traditional Austrian buildings, each in its own grounds. Each house can be accessed and is kitted out with authentic fixtures and fittings. Ancient farm vehicles are also on display here. This is a very large park and has a free small scale railway to help get around. Not to be missed.

All buildings were open and were furnished. Many had informational signs in both German and English.

The emphasis is on farm buildings. Coverage of rural commercial buildings is light.

The site is enormous and a lot of walking is involved even if you take advantage of the train.

If you ever stay in Salzburg, don't miss this place! Although Salzburg is rich in beauties, the Freilichtmuseum brings you into another time, under a spell - one might say - of a fairy tale! And as in every good fairy tale there is beauty, hard work - fight even - but also the sense of all things possible, if we only help each other. That's what this magical place can awake in you!

Such a great way to stroll through the area, nice and relaxing, admiring how people lived hundreds of years ago, dealing with the cold weather and hard physical work and the construction of the buildings was fascinating.
