If you come to Mai Chau, this is the best place to stay!
In fact, for me, it was the best stay in my whole month in Vietnam. I hope that one day I will be able to return.
I tried both (very nice and private) dorm and the (very pleasing) private room. You can rent scooters and bicycles right at the hostel for a very affordable price.
The breakfast is nice and the dinner (you can get for a cheap price) is excellent! I almost always had dinner at the hostel. It's the perfect occasion to meet new people, play games and chat.
The place is clean, modern and the staff SO friendly! You are the best!

Absolute gem in Mai Chau! Me and my sister stayed in Tans homestay a couple of nights and it has been amazing! It became a home away from home. Tan and her family go out of their way to make it a most comfortable stay - from delicious meals which are shared sitting around the table with everyone in the homestay to helping us organise some tours around the area with a local guide and easy riders. 🥰 They also provided bicycles so we could cycle around exploring nearby villages. Highly recommend this beautiful experience!

Lovely homestay. Tan and her family are very nice people and it was interesting to have conversations with Tan about her life in Vietnam. Dinners are served for sharing in the table, and different guests of the homestay sit around the same table, so it creates an opportunity to meet and chat with the other guests. Great vegan food.

Beautiful Homestay with nice private rooms, included breakfast, affordable dinner, and free bicycles. Tan is a very sweet host. The place is nicely located away from the more tightly packed hotels/homestays so you really feel you’ve gotten away. Easy biking around the valley and into town. Dogs do bark at night but that’s country life.

I stayed in the dorm and the bed was really comfortable, with such a nice scent of the bedsheets that makes you feel like at home.
The views from the guesthouse are beautiful and the owners are really kind. They will help with everyone you need.

We felt so welcome in this homestay! Even though it wasn’t the best time for us due to a scooter accident and one person being sick, the owner of the homestay was very helpful. Booking a bus for us and helping out in many ways. Also the family dinner was delicious. Thank you so much :)

Tan is the best host possible, and the home stay is just lovely. Everything is renovated but still feels homey and simple. Incredible vegan dinners!!

Charming and charismatic homestay of the Tan family that gives you the feeling of being at home. Breakfast, lunch and dinner taste fantastic and are made with local ingredients. The Mau Chau Valley is a must-see and you shouldn't miss the moped tours with our guide Vi Van Vinh to the waterfalls, caves and rice fields. 100% recommendation that also went out to my friends who are traveling to Vietnam. Staying with Tan and her family in Mai Chau was a lovely experience. It was comfortable, the food was delicious, and as a backpacker used to staying in dorms, the big room where the guests sleep was utterly luxurious (and cheaper than most dorms in Vietnam!). The view of the surrounding rice fields and mountains was also really nice.

Tan also has a bunch of bicycles which you can take out for free and explore the surrounding area, and is really knowledgeable about her local White Thai culture. I wish I had been able to spend more than two nights here.

But beware - in addition to all the things I listed, there are cute children and puppies 😁

The host Tan is so helpful, and she has amazing food on offer for dinner. It’s beautiful sitting and enjoying their delicious food & homemade rice wine. The family and friends are all so lovely. She is super helpful with directions to the waterfalls and caves also. Probably the best food I’ve eaten in Vietnam! The dorm bed was so comfy and the showers are great and hot, with awesome water pressure. A great place to stay in Mai Chau!

Had a really enjoyable short stay here, the family was very friendly and the food was good too. Private room was clean and had strong air conditioning. Would stay again.

Authentic Homestay, remote and quiet, away from the village. Tân and her family are very friendly and welcoming. Dinner was delicious, home made. Rooms are clean, with AC and fans. Bicycles available for rent. If you need transport or something else, just ask Tân, she will help you. Definitely a recommendation.

We had a lovely 2 days and 1 night at Tan's homestay, her family were welcoming and generous. We ate very well and slept comfortably. Tan took us on a few tours of the valley highlights. The bikes were a little small but everything else was great!

A nice, cozy home stay just outside, but walking distance to the village.

We spend a really good time there going to the equation festival. Dinner excellent and local. Very sympathetic person doing every thing for you to be confortable. All the things to do around are with a beautifull view on the ricefields!

Wir haben es geliebt bei Tan und ihrer Familie.
Wir waren für zwei Nächte in einem Doppelzimmer mit herrlichem Ausblick.
Tan spricht gutes Englisch und hilft jederzeit weiter, gibt Ausflugszipps und organisiert Motorroller. Es stehen auch kostenlose Fahrräder zur Verfügung.
Das Abendessen ist wirklich vielseitig und lecker.
Man sollte allerdings Ohrstöpsel beim Schlafen verwenden. Die Wände sind sehr dünn und man hört die Nachbarn schnarchen

Super homestay au calme au milieu des champs !
Tân et sa famille sont aux petits soins pour leurs hôtes. Le dortoir est très propre et super bien aménagé avec rideaux de séparation, Clim, moustiquaires, matelas très confortables. Sanitaires propres et spacieux.
Vélos à louer sur place.
Le dîner du soir était délicieux et dans une bonne ambiance.

Superbe homestay à Mai Chau. Le rapport qualité est parfait ! Le dortoir est aménagé de la sorte à ce que vous ayez l’impression d’avoir presque une chambre pour vous. La localisation est niquel, 15 minutes à pied des quelques commerces et restaurants de Ban Lac.
De plus, le personnel est très attentionné, et à bien pris soin de moi lorsque j’ai été malade 🫶
L’homestay peut également vous proposer des excursions ou des vélos ce qui est un gros plus ! Le soir, vous avez la possibilité de bien y manger, pour pas cher, et dans une bonne ambiance avec les autres voyageurs.
