Excellent experience from start to finish. The team was informative, prompt and answered all our questions. Its great value for money and the experience was fantastic. Our guide picked us up from the hotel and dropped us back. The group was small which made it feel very personal. During the tour the team had options for activities and we did them all. The buffet lunch which was included was also delicious! We loved it so much that we did another tour the next day 👌

I travelled to Hanoi with my parents and brother in January 2024. I found Vietnam Local Adventures via Instagram and really wanted to visit the incense village, which looked unique and beautiful. I looked at the Vietnam Local Adventures website and contacted Henry via Whatsapp before we arrived in Hanoi to start the process of booking the tour. Henry advised that the incense village would be half a day and suggested other options for places to visit to maximise the day-long tour. He worked with us to prioritise our interests and did what he could to ensure we could see as much as possible. We ended up visiting and Duong Lam ancient village and the Phu Cau incense village.

On meeting Henry, he was so personable, intelligent, spoke perfect English and had a very global perspective. Henry really went out of his way to personalise our experience. He put in so much effort to pass on historical and cultural knowledge of the sights and sounds, he bought us traditional sweets and fruits to try along the way and made sure we had lunch at the best place in the Duong Lam - a Unesco heritage protected wooden house which had been restored to its original condition. The food was excellent.

In the afternoon, we went to Phu Cau incense village and WOW! What a treat :-) It was actually Henry and Vietnam Local Adventures that made this incense village accessible to the public, so really, you should support the source. The whole town makes incense and each step of the process is visible on the streets, and in people's houses. Then it is incredibly beautiful to wander through the biggest factory in in Phu Cau and see the field of sticks and Vietnamese workers packing the bundles of pink, red, purple, green and yellow. Henry is equipped with the knowledge to explain the process and is well-connected with the factory staff and owner to show you the extra nooks and crannies. It was incredibly fascinating and photographic.

We went as a Western family to Ban Gioc & Ha Giang 7 days. We had the best time ever.
The whole service was fantastic from booking until
the end. The team reached us and guided us on
some adjustments to fine tune the trip to us. The
final result was one of the best experiences of our
lives. Experiencing the true Vietnam with local
people, off the beaten path locations a true cultural
interchange and landscapes that are deeply
imprinted in our memories.
Our guide Henry was extremely helpful, polite,
professional and took us to amazing places with no
tourists around. And was able to adjust the trip to
some unexpected weather surprises making this
experience even more special. His constant promise
was "still more beautiful ahead" and he always
delivered.

Seamless coordination, stress-free travel and

1. Very responsive to inquiries and even small
requests. patiently answers questions on Whatsapp and explains the details of their pricing. no hidden charges!

2. carefully selected local tour operators such as
our Ambassador overnight Cruise and Ninh Binh
day tour. we thoroughly enjoyed the luxury tours
arranged by Ha. everything was good! the
rooms, food, activities and bus rides. very
comfortable and safe.

3. Hotel selection/recommendations were also very good. our first room was rather small and had poor wifi connection but this was quickly corrected. our second room at Tirant was spacious, clean and had good wifi! not to mention great breakfast and delicious coffee!

4. walking foodie tour was a pleasant surprise since we usually go DIY in the countries we visit. our guide Henry-Tien spoke great English, was very friendly and took us to all the secret places where we can get the best local Viet food. we had breakfast, snacks, egg coffee, and bun cha lunch in 3hrs. burp!

5. Ha and Henry came to meet us on our last
dinner to get personal feedback on our tours. they
even gave me a handwritten card and a souvenir/
gift since it was my birthday. they also arranged for the hotel to send me a cake to our room. i was so surprised and touched by this simple yet thoughtful gesture!
Overall, Vietnam Local Adventures made our visit to Vietnam a most memorable one. we have
recommended them to friends and definitely
booking them again when we return to Vietnam!

Our recent 5d4n Danang tour arranged by Henry was wonderful & perfect. We were greeted by a smiling face tour guide Tom & well liked by our group for super friendliness & sharing his ever ready knowledge of history & culture.

Nothing was missed out from the itinerary & yet the pace was just perfect for a group of 7 elderly ladies. Henry was in constant contact throughout the whole trip & was extra concern for our safety. Food, hotels, transport & service was excellent too!

We really had loads of fun & laughter especially on the amazing bamboo basket adventure in Hoi An.

We found Vietnam Local Adventures when looking for a reputable travel company. Drawn in by their amazing photos of Vietnam’s northern region, we reached out to Vietnam Local Adventures to organise 2 x day tours + transportation. We were very specific in what we wanted to see, and how we wanted to travel. The team at Vietnam Local Adventures delivered to a tee.
Our tours were guided by wonderful locals, who had great English skills to be able to take us through the history. The transportation was luxurious - what you need with the hot and humid temperature.

We look forward to visiting Vietnam in the future, and continuing our exploration of the country with Vietnam Local Adventures.

Authentic and trustworthy experience

I have been using Vietnam local Adventures twice - the latest was a 3 night/4 day guided family trip for 3 generations to Cat Ba Island - Han Viet Eco village + Ninh Binh.
We had small children and special requirements for chairs in the car, food, mosquito net etc. Vietnam Local Adventures managed overall to meet out requirements and we had a wonderful adventure. The family behind the agency is very passioned and dedicated to what they are doing, and their mindset is focused on giving you an authentic experience, which they do well. Flexibility is essential when traveling with kids (and vietnamese weather!) and our guide managed to change things and enable us to get most out of the time and also used his local knowledge to share some of his secrets in Ninh Binh.
Specially the food should be highlighted. We were sleeping and eating with local families most of the time and the food was excellent.
You can trust the team, and even if not everything is perfect, they listen and change if you just say it.
We can only give our best recommendations to this small, idealistic family company and will come back another time if we get the opportunity.

Fantastic experience in North Vietnam

days 2 nights: amazing landscape if you go in
August), Ninh Binh and Ha Long bay (2 days 1 night,

We had an amazing time doing a tour through local villages. Our guide Henry was very knowledgeable and fun. We were invited to local homes for lunch and visited so many beautiful workshops to learn more about vietnamese culture. This is an absolute must-do activity when in Vietnam.

Best guide ever! As a local person he knows a lot about Vietnam. You would never find out all things he shows you!

Henri es seguramente el mejor guía de todo el norte de Vietnam porque además de conocer perfectamente el país, además es la persona que se dedica a buscar localizaciones para National Geographic y la mayoría de sitios que son famosos hoy en el norte de Vietnam y en Hanoi lo son por él. Además es un encanto de persona con quién disfruté mucho por sus explicaciones y el mejor guía en general que he tenido en los más de 50 países que llevo recorridos.
