Bánh Xèo Tôm Nhảy Thanh Sang

Oh wow. This is a real hidden gem (up some stairs in the entrance to an alley). We were recommended to visit this place by a local bartender and it really did not disappoint. The pictures don't do it justice, but the bánh xèo, fresh herbs and fish sauce were all delicious and in very generous portions. We would absolutely come back on our next trip to Hanoi. Very nice staff as well!

It's hard to spot and you have to climb up the stairs to find this restaurant. The workers are kind and taught me how to eat it! It was tasty and krispy!

Breath of fresh air in Hanoi, such a hidden gem! We came half an hour before closing and were warmly welcomed by the owner who showed us how exactly to wrap the pancakes (delicious and fresh tasting). To top it all off the owner was the most genuine Vietnamese person we've met on this trip, he actually refunded us the price of one pancake when we declined it (as we were too full)!! That was heartwarming, cannot recommend enough. I hope this business gets the recognition it deserves.

Best bánh xèo in Hanoi, quality topping, crunchy cake, dry (not oily). Wish that I know this place sooner. Bánh xèo in other popular places that I have been is too too greasy, attitude problem, low quality topping, unhygienic, dirty floor, smelly, dirty utensil 😒. So this is my favorite place. So cheap for the quality. I get so full with 2 cakes. Must try

Unquestionably one of our best traditional meals here in Hanoi. As others have said, it’s a clean place with very fresh, well prepared ingredients. The portions are generous and the ambience is cheerful. Don’t let the entryway put you off. Go on upstairs and enjoy❣

Very very good food. Hard to communicate in english. but super good food. also some of showed us how to do it properly. i had the egg version because im vegetarian but also very tasty.

Amazing Banh Xeo. Best we’ve had in Hanoi. Crispy and chewy. Delicious fresh toppings and sauce(pork&egg is 10/10) and not greasy. One set per person is a very reasonable serving, especially is you get Nem Lui aswell (meat skewers) which you should because they are also so good (cooked on a lemongrass stick). Staff are lovely and translated menu for us and showed us how to properly construct these rolls the first time. It is a smaller space and is very popular so I would recommend going before the dinner rush or you’ll be waiting. Trada and ice tamarind drinks were also great. We’ve gone many times now and would recommend everything.

This place was really great! We decided to come here after seeing Banh Xeo as a ‘must try’ food in Hanoi.

We were the only westerners there, but it was very busy with locals (all the tables were full which is always a good sign). The server did not speak English, but was patient with us as we pointed at the menu. 1 order of beef and 1 order of shrimp was plenty of food for 2 people. The food came quickly, and then someone came out of the back and even demonstrated for us how to assemble our rolls which was nice because we were struggling a bit.

This place has excellent banh xeo! They're crispy and not greasy like most places. I got the shrimps and beef combo, plus a nem. Scissors are provided at the table for you to cut the banh xeo to smaller pieces to wrap in rice papers. Love that they give you a lots of fresh herbs. If you like banh xeo, or just want to try it for the first time, go here! You won't be disappointed.

Fantastic. Simple, fresh, fast, and delicious. Can't say enough good things about this place.

As other reviews mention, you might want to familiarize yourself with how to use rice paper.. but the staff is very nice and super helpful so don't worry about it.

Mind the closing hours between lunch and dinner service.

Kind of a hideout, it is placed on the 2nd floor of an old french villa, with small space but the dishes are delicious.

We found this place randomly on Google map, it turned out to be great! Food is delicious & clean. And the staff is super nice, she noticed we didn’t know how to ear bang xeo, showed us how, it’s very pleasant experience.
