Cat Ba Express Tours & Bus

My girlfriend and I booked with them both the bus from Hanoi to Cat Ba (with return) and the excusion in Lan Ha Bay.

The Bus:
We were picked up right on time, and on the bus, we were welcomed by the lovely Happy. He was super friendly and gave us some great tips on things to see and do in Cat Ba. The entire trip was well organised, and we were dropped right in front of the hotel where we were staying. The same thing was for the return, which was super easy and fast.

The Excusion:
Before we booked this, we were considering doing the Ha Long Bay cruise, but we were lucky enough to see a video on YouTube where they were recommending doing this excision instead.
In the morning, we were picked up at the hotel by the wonderful Sean (Sun) who gave us a warm welcome and looked after us during the entire day.
The cruise was comfortable, specious (3 levels) and modern. There were some other boats around us, and ours was by far the best of all.
During the day, we were taken around some breathtaking views, did a bit of kayaking, and swam in a lovely bay. Also, the lunch was super nice, and we were served some lovely dishes.
Honestly, booking with Cat Ba Express was the best decision ever, and we paid only $35 per person, which is a massive save compared to the Ha Long Bay cruise.

We did a one day tour on the serenity cruises boat and everything was fantastic. Our guide Tony went above and beyond. Lots of time to enjoy activities such as kayaking around and visiting some very quiet and peaceful places. Lunch had many options and they can cater to many food allergies or needs. The swimming around the beaches was just beautiful. Learned a lot about the fishing village too. Thanks Tony and the entire crew!

We really appreciated our trip organized by Cat Ba Express! They were so helpful in coordinating everything, such as making sure we got picked up in time. We really wanted to go to Lan Ha Bay and not many providers offer this option, so we were really happy about it.

They ensured that our vegetarian diet could be accommodated, which made us feel so welcomed during the tour.

The trip to Lan Ha Bay was quick and efficient in a comfortable van. Of course, views of the bay from the cruise ship are breathtaking! We had a lot of fun kayaking and swimming in the wonderfully warm Lan Ha Bay waters!

The most amazing service with bus as well as serenity cruise. Mr. Happy was so caring and polite throughout the bus trip and explained everything step by step. Mr. Tony was our guide for the day cruise to La Han Bay and he talked us through every tiny details of itinerary and gave us so much information about local people and their lifestyles. Had so many options for vegetarian food which was such a pleasant surprise. Definitely recommend cat ba express whether it's for bus or serenity cruise.

We were picked from our hotel and dropped safely to our nearest point. The staff is extremely helpful and are attentive to your concern as many times as you have a question or a doubt.

Great experience with Cat Ba Express!
Arranged both Return transport from Hanoi to Cat Ba and a 1 Day cruise with Serenity Cruises.
Both experiences were great but we were most impressed by the effort the hosts/chaperones put into making sure everything went to plan during the transport phases. We were met exactly where we agreed previously over email which was close to our hotel (not quite in the Old Quarter). Mr. Happy jogged along the street to us and walked with us to a bus that was pulled in at the side of a nearby road. After the speedy drive and speed boat over to Cat Ba we were dropped exactly at our hotel near the main town in Cat Ba. Took a lot of stress of us and was relieving to know we were right to trust the online site. They have offices in Hanoi and Cat Ba which if like us, you are wary about spending money online, you might like to pop into to be reassured.

Took the Cat Ba Express from Hanoi Old Quarter to Cat Ba island. We were picked up at our hotel right on time. Our tour guide Binh made sure that we were all informed of the itinerary and we were dropped off in front of our hotels on Cat Ba Island safely. The journey was by express bus, speed boat and express bus again to Cat Ba downtown. Recommended if you want a stress-free travel to Cat Ba!

I'm very impressed with this Serenity Premium Day Cruise.

The cruise at Catba is not as busy as Halong bay. The price (about 2 times cheaper than Cruise at Halong bay) is very cheap compared to the impressions and activities I got. I like Catba more than Halong bay because less people and able to fully kayak in the middle of nature.

😊All staffs take care of everyone thoroughly and closely. The food service staffs are friendly and attentive to each individual dish. The food is varied, plentiful and delicious. 🤤
The boatman is smiling and friendly.🛳🙂

I like the atmosphere on the cruise that is not crowded and has a private corner to sit quietly. Drink prices are reasonable. Overall, it was a very impressive day on our Vietnam trip and it's incredible to have a trip like this at such a low price. I'm very thankful to all the staffs for making us happy on vacation. It's a very good once-in-a-lifetime memory.

The guide (Dai vu) is cute, friendly, talkative & funny. I’ve learn from the stories told by the guide such as the life of fisherman & fishing village, fishing, local life, Vietnamese culture, and surrounding nature. One thing that impressed me was that the guide was experienced as a local and had been familiar with the Catba area for a long time and therefore shared stories interpolating from his experiences.
😆Funny!! I had never kayaked before and I learned my first paddle with a guide. Thank you for your hard work with us. 🙂

We had a private Ha Long Bay boat tour that was 3 days and 2 nights. There were about 20 of us. It was such a chill balance between kayaking and swimming (the adventurous stuff) and lounging around the various islands/boat and doing our own thing. The rooms are really nice too. The meals were insanely generous portions and included mostly seafood, tasted like home-cooked goodness. Tom Cruise was our awesome tour guide, and the whole staff did a wonderful job taking care of us. They even delivered a bag that I had accidentally left behind at the Cat Ba office to their other office in Hanoi for me. Thanks so much for everything!

Only got the coach - was cheaper than booking via our cruise provider. Very comfortable and easy.

Great service. We booked a lan ha bay day tour with them and a bus back to Hanoi. Lovely cruise, lovely guide ( Tony), good vegetarian options ( salad, rice, potato curry, corn, French fries, mushroom balls, egg dishes). The bus was very comfortable with great leg space. Highly recommended this.

Awesome fuss free experience! Bus was on time, and driver drove safely without excessive horning. We had a friendly guide, Binh, who gave us great tips for our trip in Hanoi. Great experience compared to other bus companies.

Took a bus package from Hanoi to Cat Ba. Accommodating and on time. Instead always ahead of schedule. Their tour guides are knowledgeable and always there to assist. We also booked Serenity cruise day trip with them. Worth every penny spent.

Bus picked us up from Hanoi to Cat Ba, was everything you would expect from a bus ride I guess. Stopped half way to fill stomachs and empty bladders, then hopped on a ferry and then another bus on the other side. Staff were great
