Great hostel and tour group for the Ha Giang Loop. Our easy riders were wonderful and drove safely. Ross the owner helped us coordinate everything before our arrival. He was really super helpful after I left my medicine bag on the bus to Hanoi. He immediately contacted the bus and had it sent back to me the next day. I am forever grateful for his assistance. Thank you Ross and thanks for a memorable trip on the Ha Giang Loop!!! Cheers

Great place to stay and to book the loop with. I had researched doing the loop with different larger companies/hostels and it didn't look appealing as I'm not a drinker really. Doing the loop with no madders felt like an entirely different experience to what I had seen other tour companies do. If you're looking for a nice place to relax before/after the loop and to book with somewhere that prioritizes small groups and actually learning something about the culture in Ha Giang definitely consider no madders!

My partner and I did the 4 days and 3 night tour with NoMadders.

Hands down, the best experience in Vietnam. The views are breathtaking and there are not enough words to describe how incredible is the Hà Giang loop.

I always felt completely safe with the easyriders and they were all super friendly.

This is the tour to choose as it is done in small group (we were 6), a chance to see the local life and see some places off the usual loop track.

Ross is quick to respond and was incredibly helpful for logistics (before and after the loop) and preparation.

Be sure to order the chicken burger at the hostel on the day you come back from the loop. Got to end a perfect trip with a perfect burger. ;)

If you are looking for a place to start your Ha Giang loop this is it! The accommodation itself is very clean and new, the food is also very tasty. The owner Ross is a very friendly and helpful guy, he will answer to any question you have about the loop and he also helped us organize our trip from and to Ha Giang, he was simple the best! The tour itself is a must if you have time, it is a unique experience and the drivers of NoMadders were really professional and brought us to less to touristy places. The groups were also always small, which is great compared to those companies that organize the loop with like 20 people… that simply looked awful and dangerous. So we feel like recommending NoMadders if you are looking for an unforgettable experience 🏍

Absolutely beautiful! Booking went very smooth.
The owner was super helpful, even before the trip he helped us to arrange bus transfers.
Rooms are perfect, very clean and comfy. Breakfast was also very good.
It's a bit outside of the city so you will need a taxi to go to the city. They offer great Ha Giang Loop tours that depart from Nomadders so the place has all you need!

Nomadders is one beautiful hostel and like nothing else I've experienced in Vietnam.... everything is so well thought out, its comfortable, cozy and feels very homely.. there's little touches everywhere that make you smile.
Ross the host is a 1 man machine, he does everything, arranged all my buses, the incredible loop tour - seriously good! Gave me tips for the rest of my travels, he's a font of knowledge! He also cooks unbelievably tasty food! Everything exceeded my expectations and the whole experience was incredibly refreshing given the usual Asian norm!
Thank you!

Great hostel and 3 day Ha Giang tour, special thank you to Ross for helping us book everything and even helping with a mix up so we wouldn’t miss the bus from Hanoi! Our tour was amazing, every driver was excellent, being a small group of 6 we passed by all the big tours and visited lots of places that other groups did not go to which was great. The food, accommodation and overall organization couldn’t have been better and I would highly, highly recommend staying here and doing the tour!

Best backpacker experience of the 20+ hostels I’ve stayed at in my life, by a wide margin.

Service: This really separates the hostel from the others. Obviously it’s a transaction, but Ross takes care of his guests. Could charge more, but gives a very fair price. Transportation, he’s got it. Honest opinions about anything he’s got it. Any request you have, he’ll try to help you. Taxi driver tries to rip you off, he’ll tell them where to go. I showed up sick and he took me to the pharmacy on his own moto. Not many better people out there on this planet. Extremely well managed and connected the community.

Loop Tour: loads of fun — safe and dependable guides, very well fed throughout the trip, beautiful views, excellent route, comfortable local accommodation. We saw him carefully inspecting the bikes before the tour - prioritizes your safety.

Hostel: Stayed in both the dorm and cabana. Very comfortable, slept like a baby. Decent WiFi, I took a couple work video calls from the bar area. Prices very reasonable for what you get.

Restaurant/Bar: Because its not located right in the center of town, they could overcharge you if the wanted. Don’t worry - the pricing is fair and the food is solid. Fun bar with clean swimming pool.

Really enjoyed our stay at the hostel and 4 day tour with real ha giang. Ross and our guide Twin were very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly.

We really enjoyed the extra parts of the tour that the other company's didn't offer. They took us to a higher quiet area of the waterfalls where we enjoyed a swim without blaring music and also the best views were during a hiking section which we had completely to ourselves as the other tours simply walk to the first rock for a photo and then return to their bikes.

Top tip would be to bring solid footwear as some waterfalls were accessed via slippery paths.

We had the time of our lives.
I can only say that if you go to Ha Giang for the Loop, this is the place to start.
Perfect host.
Perfectly organised.
We felt at home.
Ross organises the Loop in small groups, not the 20 bikers all road-training behind each other.
I’ve seen a lot and this one gives you the proverbial cake and cherry on top.
Thanks Ross for giving us an experience to remember.

I only review the Ha Giang 4 day tour, since we didn't stay at the hostel. I would definitely recommend to do this tour! No big groups and you get to see very beautiful places, like other reviewers mentioned.

I drove myself with a semi automatic Honda Blade (110 ccm). I had the correct licence and international driving permit (1968) from Switzerland. We got stopped by the police and I didn't get a fine, so no problems at all. The road was mostly good and if you are a experienced scooter driver, you will have no problems. But i still recommend to go as Easyrider. Here's why: you get to see more of the beautiful landscape! I had to concentrate often on the road. There are potholes and occasional traffic. If you consider riding motorbikes as your hobby or passion, then ride yourself! But if you are like me and just ride bikes occasionally, I think you are better off as Easyrider, if your Ego let's you do it ;) We stayed at cool homestays. No parties, but you can still get some beers or Happy Water or even do Karaoke if you want.

Our group was only 4 tourists and 3 Easydrivers, so 7 people. It was very cool and felt authentic. Our guide Thanh did a very good job. My girlfriend rode with him and had no complaints at all. His driving was safe and responsible. We almost never overtook and otherwise only when it was safe. He didn't get stressed or challenged by the big hostel groups that sometimes overtook us. Also our other drivers, Chou and Hanh drove responsible. Only sad that they didn't speak better English, I think they would have had many good stories.

This leads to the negative points. We didn't have a guide with good English skills with us. So we didn't get to know very much about the culture and history. This would have been important for us. But Thanh even had online english lessons at the evenings to improve his skills. Impressive!

The second thing is the organization on the first day. There were some misunderstandings about our group. So there was an Easydriver missing when we arrived. Our tour started a bit late and we didn't get enough information in my opinion. The organization of the tour start should be improved. I think it would also be good to have an official start meeting with e.g. route information, introduction of the group etc.

I still gave 5 stars because i really enjoyed it anyway, but I think there is room for improvement regarding the organisation.

Just wanted to share my experience of the 4 day The Real Ha Giang Loop with the Nomadders. Absolutely brilliantly organised, max of 8 people in the group (mine had 6), felt very authentic and real. We passed several different groups from other tour operators en route and they looked dreadful, even 80+ people! If you want the real deal, enjoy stunning views with likeminded people and not feel like a hinderance to the local people- this tour is for you!

Cleanest dorm room I've been in Vietnam. Super host. Coolest story's and also a really cool dude. Couldn't have asked for a better stay in Ha Giang.

We stayed three nights at NoMadders before doing the loop with them. An amazing spot further away from the city in the middle of the jungle. Nice pool, great food (also non-Vietnamese) and a relaxed vibe. The owner of the hostel is a cool guy with humor. He guided us on the loop on his own motorcycle together with two easy riders. My friends and I drove ourselves on bikes we rented with him and had the best time. Alternative routes which are not touristic at all and fun hostels on the way. Definitely better to go with a small fun group (we had 7 people) than with a huge group like at mama’s or jasmine. After we finished the loop in four days, we stayed another night at NoMadders hostel. The owner was very helpful while we were making our next plans. He gave some good tips about our next destination and about which bus company we should pick. He also could book taxis and busses for us with a little discount. Definitely the highlight of our trip and never forgetting it! Thanks for an amazing week Ross!

Nomadders is the ✨ BEST ✨ hostel I stayed at in North Vietnam. I stayed two nights before doing the loop with them and one night after, but already regret not staying at the hostel longer. The host is great and thinks along with your travel plans and wishes, there is a good vibe and good food at the hostel, beds are comfy. The Ha Giang Loop which I did and which was organized through them was also great - I was looking for a genuine Ha Giang experience and riding the loop with a small group of people, not a big party group. This was realized through Nomadders with two lovely homestays on the loop as well. Don’t know what else to say - just go to Nomadders!

PS: a friend celebrated her birthday the night after the loop at the hostel, the host Ross organized a barbecue and decorated the hostel as a surprise 🎉🪩🎊

Great set up at the hostel, good food, and owner Ross is a top bloke. The small group we had for the loop was perfect and the guides were absolute legends. Not too much party but heaps of fun and cool side trips you don’t get on the bigger tours.

Super hostel in Ha Giang with beautiful rooms and good food. The Real Ha Giang loop Ross offers is perfectly organised and goes of the beaten track and avoids the large groups. Ross is a great host he even helped me get back the hoody if forgot. 😅 Thanks for everything Ross.

One of the best hostels I've stayed at! Like others have said, Ross is a top notch C. Great convos and laughs with everyone staying at the place. Make sure to book your tour through Ross as the itinerary is definitely something special!
