Mai Chau Ecolodge

Wow- this hotel is in one of the most beautiful areas you could ask for.
The hotel is small but has all you could want.
Our room was a great size and our private pool was incredible- cold but that was needed in the heat.
Food was lovely for both breakfast and dinner.
We had a tour with Lee which was fantastic

We only stayed one night as part of a tour, but a longer stay would be fun. The breakfast spread was lovely with both Vietnamese and Western foods. The pool was cold, but refreshing after using their bikes to pedal around the rice fields. Lovely location.

We had a lovely time at Mai Chau Ecolodge … the location was beautiful, the staff were really friendly & helpful, the massages were lovely and the food & bedroom were great. The only problem was the noise … unfortunately, although the rules ask for respect in regard to making noise, this isn’t enforced. In fact, with the screaming children & parents around the pool, it made it really quite unpleasant … a shame.

Stayed here for 2 nights in their family connecting room. Food was great and rooms came with a nice view of the paddy fields. The guests could rent the bicycles for free to explore around the area. We tried their half day boating tour and Chien took us around. He was very friendly and took great care of us. Overall great experience!

My family of 5 recently stayed at Mai Chau Ecolodge. We enjoyed the rustic elegance. The staff was very helpful and thoughtful. We enjoyed the restaurant and bar. Our favorite part of the stay was the bike rentals. Riding around through the villages was definitely the highlight!

We spent there one night while we were sightseeing in Mai Chau and our experience was great. We had the luck to be upgraded to the suite, which has a private pool with amazing views. The room was big, with a nice bathtub. We also ate different meals and all of them were tasty. At night, they offered a local dance exhibition, which was nice too.

Must stay, located on a hill overlooking the rice Patti and farms. Cycle or hike/trek to local village. Very pleasant stay with everything available, great food, great views, friendly atmosphere and staff.

Above & Beyond!
We stayed here for two nights and it was amazing. One of the most lovely places we’ve been to. The view from the balcony at the ricefields is amazing. The rooms are very clean, the staff is SUPER friendly. They even surprised me in the room with a cake for my birthday. The pool is very nice and every evening there is a local dance performance. You can also rent bikes for free to explore the nearby towns. They offer many different tours to discover the neighbourhood. Fantastic stay!

I stayed one night at Ecolodge, and it was fabulous. The place is beautiful and tranquil, a great counterpoint to buzzing Hanoi. The staff is friendly and the food was good, too. My room had a view on the patty field and was well equipped. Highly recommend it if you are visiting Mai Chau and its vicinity.

This is such an amazing place to stay a beautiful location and the rooms are so nice and a mix of moden and traditional. The food is amazing and the pool was so nice to cool off in. The views from the rooms where incredible. Recommend going in the season that the rice between august-October ish the rice is very green and about to be harvested.

I am delighted with the experience at Mai Chau Ecolodge. The food is excellent for the price point, the room is big and clean, and the staffs are super friendly. I forgot my dress after checking out and they were kind enough to send it back to Hanoi. Highly recommend

Wow hotel! In a wow location. Mai Chau is stunning and this hotel does not create the feeling of being cut off from nature and this is done while using all the comfort one needs. Huge rooms, spacious showers, a good bed and even a private pool for each room, in addition to the large shared pool.
The breakfast is excellent and the service is indulgent. The hotel's restaurant, where breakfast is served, serves high quality food, but the price is expensive. Every evening there is a dance show in the pool area at the end of which the guests are invited to join in the dancing.



We had a wonderful stay here - 4 nights. The room was super with lovely views over the rice fields, comfy bed, hot shower, spacious. However what made it so special was the staff, they always had a smile on their face and were very helpful, nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Most spoke very good English. Breakfast selection was very good and we ate dinners and lunches here, all of which were delicious. The service was excellent. I can also recommend the massages, very relaxing. We borrowed bikes and explored the area which was great.

We used the shuttle bus there and back from Hanoi. It is slightly less than 4 hours with a short break half way.

Beautiful cabins, lovely views from the front deck, good food up at the lodge, and they put on a show for us with the folk dancers (we were able to participate in the "pole dancing") They had bicycles to use and the 'bike paths' were paved, so not dangerous. You are surrounded by rice paddies & villages & mountains... beautiful setting. Staff were friendly & helpful. I would stay there again.

Overlooks rice fields with unique mountains and rock formations.

Rooms well appointed, roomy all with balcony to take in views. All rooms seem to have views.

Lovely pool / bar area.

Restaurant has quality food options also with a balcony for views, though would book the balcony if you want it.

If you are mobility restricted could be a problem as stairs to most rooms.

Amazing place. The location and views from the bungalows are unbeatable. The staff is super friendly and helpful and bikes (with child seat) are free to use. There are some small minor things to even further improve this place. The electric trolley (super that it is electric!) makes a lot of noise, which can be annoying at such a peaceful place. Next to that, we would have loved to see more solar panels. We only saw four small panels that looked like they were not working. Last, the quality of the food in the restaurant is not all good. We really enjoyed the stir fried noodles but some of the offered foreign dishes were not that good. Overall, amazing experience and highly recommended!

A great place for relaxation. Beautiful bungalows full of detail and full of amenities, and a surprisingly good restaurant (try the local fish wraps). Well situated to explore the valley by bike. One downside: there’s no TV.

Stunning location. 360 mountain view.

Rooms set on levels, well spaced though they are adjoining another in pairs. Outdoor shower to get in touch with surrounding, but lovely timber bath inside. Rooms are spacious and well equipped for eco Lodge.

Lots of free bikes to use, some better than others but generally well maintained. Lots of trails and shory cycling routes. Would be great to see some hiking options in local area by local guide, though the cave trip was lovely.

Restaurant food was lovely, especially bamboo beef, rice, mango salads. Breakfast was very generous too with great variety.

Lovely pool with smaller child pool, it was a little cloudy during our stay and could probably do with a clean.

Enjoyed the dance demonstrations at night. Overall a wonderful stay with helpful staff in beautiful setting, of which there is no comparison.

We have had a wonderful time at the Mai Chau Ecolodge. The cottages are situated in a semi circle on a hill with beautiful planay amd flowers. The cottages are really nice, spacious, clean and have good airco’s. They also have a very nice pool area with a nice poolbar. The restaurant is also excellent and serves a good breakfast and a nice dinner as well. Staff are extremely nice and helpful. We enjoyed our stay here very much and will definitely come back!

Beautiful place amidst the rice fields. And very large comfortable rooms with a great bathtub, outside shower and view. Very kind and helpful staff. We forgot something in their shuttle and the driver was so kind to bring it to us. And they arranged for a room for my baby to sleep after check-out time. Thank yoh for a great stay!
