Sol Bungalows Resort - Mai Châu

Great swimming pool with amazing services from the local Thai ethnic. The best time to be here is April or November with yellow rice fields can be seen a long the way.

What a great experience. Driving up to the local area, I thought to myself... my god, I just spend 4hrs in the car to get here?! I feel car sick and I am going to be sleeping in a tent. Those thoughts were quickly put aside when I arrived at what must be the most spectacular hotel in the area. Spending time in Vietnam you take for granted things like AC, ice, and western toilets - they had it all. I walked in and was greeted by cold hibiscus tea, shown a tour of the property, the gardens and the rice fields. Super firm, but clean beds awaited me. The patio on each of the rooms overlooked the rice fields and each had a breathtaking view of the mountains with mist rolling down each morning. I spent the morning on a walking tour of the area, and then went on a bike tour where I found a local side of the road restaurant where we had lunch. One evening, in the middle of a storm, we had dinner and a private dancing show from the local children... really a great experience. Each morning breakfast is served in the lobby to get you charged for the day's events.

This magical place is in the valley surrounded by mountains. The view is breathtaking. Soaking in the swimming pool you can watch beautiful rice fields and mountains behind. Rooms are big, clean, modern with powerful air conditioning. There is TV, minibar, fridge and safe in the room. Laundry service. People are very friendly - I love it! ;)

They have great pool with mountain view. The room is clean and restaurant serve good local food. However this place is only nice for chilling and relax since they don't have many of entertaining services. But still a good place for family outing

Very nice resort - and really good food too! Sunday night had a 1 hour traditional dance show that was very interesting.

The resort is medium sized - maybe 20 bungalows - with a large swimming pool, that is both kid and adult friendly.

The view everywhere is gorgeous - mountains and rice fields as far as the eye can see - and the staff is friendly and helpful, albeit perhaps not 100% fluent in English. This is to be expected here, though. :)

Drinks are relatively expensive - 50.000 VND for a beer - but still cheap for pretty much anywhere but Vietnam.

WiFi all round, and good enough to watch Netflix, even at 21:00 at night when everyone is in their cabins.

All in all an excellent place to relax, swim and enjoy the beautiful nature of the Main Chau valley!

Beautiful location. pool faces rice fields and mountain backdrop. poetic setting. rooms are clean and comfortable. restaurant was alittle disorganised during breakfast. some items were served from the counter kitchen some were across the room in another station.

It was the most amazing surprise to find such luxury in a place so remote and of such outstanding natural beauty. The place blends seamlessly with its surroundings, the staff pay close attention to detail, and everything can be taken care of for a very reasonable price by western standards...

Absolutely unmissable. Incredible venue, fantastic family run business with the best staff ever. Food was simply incredible too. Completely recommend.

Great welcome from Sol Bungalows! We had 3 unforgettable days over there with a lot of new experiences for me and my kids. We will definitively come back.
