Absolutely loved our stay there. The family was very kind and even tho most communication went trough google translate or their lovely daughter, they made sure we had a good time. Food was delicious, great cook and they made sure it’s vegan !!

There’s tailors working at the place and they made us some amazing custom made little bags, don’t be too shy to ask :)
You get bycicles at the place which is great to explore the area.

I stayed overnight here while on a motorcycle trip with 3 friends Jan 6/18. This is a true homestay not a hotel in disguise. Beautiful site in a valley of Thai people. The owner Tam served a great dinner and joined our table after we had finished. A wonderful hostess. After a good night's sleep and hearty breakfast we left on backroads from there. Definitely recommended.

Family is very friendly and hospitality. they made great food , homestay has a great view of mountains and rice paddies. It is also located in a authentic and traditional view of white Thai people, very quiet and not touristic.
I am highly recommend this homestay to everyone who travel to Mai Chau .

I lived there for 3 weeks, amazing place with spectacular view of all the mountains and the rice fields, also the family is super friendly and helpful, and they cook amazing! Even they cook super healthy vegan on my request, pure joy and love

My friend and I met Thang at his shop in Hanoi called With Love from the Mountains. It was our first night in Hanoi and we were looking for recommendations on how to spend our 12 day vacation. Thang recommended visiting Mai Chau and offered his family’s homestay Chien Tam Homestay. He told us what bus to take and gave us his phone number to call when we arrived in Mai Chau. Once we arrived, we called Thang and he contacted his father in law to come pick us up. The stilt house we stayed in was beautiful! We had a private room with two beds and fans. The bathrooms were separate on the main floor. They cooked us a feast for dinner and breakfast and were kind enough to have us join their family lunch. Thang’s mother in law took us on a 10km trek through the rice paddies which was incredible! She also joined us on a bicycle ride through the local villages. Although they did not speak English we were able to communicate through Google Translate and shared many laughs together. At the end of the stay they made sure we got on the bus safely and gifted us with homemade bracelets. This was an unforgettable experience and a highlight on our trip to Vietnam. If you are looking for a “local experience” don’t hesitate to book with Chien Tam Homestay.

Amazing place, view from the bungalow. Breakfast so good, you can rent bicycle at the homestay to visit the wonderful area.

The best homestay I stayed in Vietnam! Tam and family (especially mom and dad) were really warm and welcoming- they tried to help with everything I needed. Tam spoke good English and although Tam's parents couldn't, Google's audio function worked well! They were so very kind, let me borrow bicycle, brought me to a music night festival and also to repair my motorbike.

Although seemingly unassuming (photos are true), this is a true homestay in a traditional white thai slit house located pleasantly further down and away from the noisier main cluster of populated & touristy accommodation at Poom chong and Loom villages.

I asked for a dorm at 100k/night (breakfast included) but they were really generous and offered me a private room as it was off season. Heater worked well, mosquitoe net and towels were provided. Food is often of large quantities but they were so yummy I ate everything 😂 (dinner 200k)
