Minh Thơ Homestay Restaurant

Very simple but cozy accommodations. The owners, staff, and food were absolutely fantastic. We walked and biked around the villages and were greeted every day by the school children and people. Really a magical and safe place. Highly recommend if you are looking for a break from the city life.

Stopped here for a night and loved it. The family here are warm and welcoming and we enjoyed a family meal together with plenty of rice wine. The rooms are immaculate and comfortable, they have a pool but its the hosts that make it so good. Beware of the Thouc Lao!

We spent two nights at this homestay, and it was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our 20-day journey through Vietnam. Duan and Thao, the delightful couple who manage the homestay, are incredibly warm, kind, and full of joy. We were treated to a mesmerizing display of traditional Thai dance and even participated in a lively bamboo dance with them in the evening. The following day, our hosts graciously took us to witness a Thai-Hmong wedding ceremony, creating a truly unforgettable experience. To add to the enchantment, Duan guided us on a serene bamboo boat rafting excursion in the evening, serenading us with his remarkable singing talents as we floated along. The night concluded with a delightful, authentic local vegetarian meal, shared together like a family, all thanks to Duan, Thao, and their mother.

The homestay itself is impeccably clean, minimalistic, and offers a tranquil atmosphere. In addition to the wonderful stay, Thao went the extra mile to assist us in purchasing local souvenirs and even provided me with the opportunity to try on a Thai traditional dress. If you have a passion for exploring local culture, savoring authentic food, and cherishing heartwarming hosts, I highly recommend this homestay. It's an experience that goes beyond accommodation, offering a genuine immersion into the local way of life. Thank you so much for hosting us!

Best homestay experience I’ve had in Vietnam. Thơ, Minh and their family are very warm and welcoming. The dorm is really comfortable and the food is delicious. I will definitely come back here again if I have the chance.

Minh is a very friendly and welcoming host! We had a great lunch there and were offered a lot of rice wine which was very tasty! The surrounding area is very scenic and has a lot to show. Locals are always happy to see tourists and go out of their way to say hello :)

Very pleasant place with great view on the rice fields and karst mountains. Far away from the chaotic and nerve breaking Hanoi. Staff is very nice and helpful. Though they speak hardly any English. But you are in paradise, so who cares?

Sanitary facilities are basic but clean. With hot showers. Abundant wifi.
Try to book the bamboo cabin that is located in the rice fields.

We haven't stayed there for night but only visited the restaurant during our bicycle trip. Perfect place to relax on the way. The family who runs this place is very welcoming and friendly. Everything looks very clean and cosy. We strongly recommend it.

Very friendly staff, Mrs Thơ is sympathic nice woman who cares about you like a grandma. Nice surrounding, you can rent a bike and explore the great countryside of Mai Chau. Food was very delicious, highly recommend this homestay.

Excellent homestay with very friendly host family. Had dinner with them and several other guests. Pool is very refreshing after hiking or cycling in the area.

A good place for enjoying your backpacking trip to Mai Chau ( Hoa Binh province, Viet Nam) you will be hosted by Ms. Thơ a local woman here. And a tips for those who is an adventurous is you can ask her the way to the caves system behind the homestay. It's really good out there
