Samarkand International Airport

Beautiful modern airport. You should come as early as possible because of very long control: for check in and leaving your luggage, for passport control. Everyone had to leave their shoes for control (I was surprised). Everyone is super serious.
But we still have great emotions!
Still water is very cheap comparing to any other airport. 5000 sum per 0.5l.
There is amazing playing room for children!
Sockets for chargers near seats. But usb chargers didn’t work

Waited a bit for the passport control (10-15 mts). There is an exchange office right near the baggage claim with not that bad rates. The airports is very modern. You need Uzbek number for wifi when you arrive. I suggest you to get Airalo esim and get Yandex/Yango taxi from the airport (15k-20k UZS, compared to 70-80k which is what taxi drivers are asking for). There is also a place that sells sim cards in the airport.

Samarkand International Airport is the second busiest in Uzbekistan (after Tashkent). It welcomes over 800,000 passengers a year. The airport is located in the northern part of the city at an altitude of 680 meters above sea level.

Excellent environment after the remodeling process got completed. Now, this airport lacks a direct non-stop flight to New York City (just divert one flight from the existing Tashkent route so that passengers can avoid going to Tashkent and wasting time). Otherwise, it's a good job!

Beautiful airport, very clean😁 well organized. I can’t say anything about the washrooms as haven’t been there😊. Much better than couple of years ago. Staff is very friendly.

Uzbekistan Airways is one of the most safest airlines in the world. The services were pretty good.

New airport. Very efficient.

Beautiful, small and nice airport. All the staff were very helpful. especially for the tourists they made all the process very easy. There is a bank from where you can exchange your USD. They don't accept other currencies. Also there is a mobile shop just before the exit from where you can buy your simcard.

So that's the place where I saw snow first time in my life

The airport is very small and you don’t need to come 3 hrs in advance cause all procedure will take less than 30 min

The airport is a well basic necessary place required place for airplane to come. This is a nice airport

Beautiful airport and it is quite modern as well. There is a currency exchange available, and also sim cards and e sim available. Use Yandex for booking a cab.

State of the art construction... Very beautiful n well equipped

Airport which was recently renovation looks amazing, big and clean . Please can you give us more food option for early flights and free wifi at the terminal area would be awesome.
