The Press

Can't even express how much I love The Press! Such a precious bookstore and coffee shop! Warm and inviting. The staff are the kindest people. Their coffee is on a whole other level! It's the best coffee in town! Hands down! I'm so grateful to live a few blocks away because I'll be here all the time! 😍🎉🔥

Lovely little bookstore and cafe combo. Fully safe, gluten free options. Pour overs, fresh loose leaf teas, vittles, and wonderful places to sit and enjoy books and food alike.

Seating ranges from chairs and tables to some more lounging type furniture like couches and chairs. A great view of the state building in the middle of town. The inside of the building is gorgeous, but they also have outdoor seating on the sidewalk fenced in with umbrellas. Their specials for coffee are consistently fantastic (I haven't gotten anything off their specials menu so I cannot review those). They have a public bathroom and a nice selection of books for such a small place, they even have an area dedicated to local authors which I adore. I have not been here after 4 pm but I know that is when they start to also sell alcoholic drinks. When I have been in here it has ranged in business, but I would say the sound level is a good medium where you can casually talk with your friends or read (if you like a bit of life around you as ambiance which I do).
The Press is technically the book store, which the coffee shop going by Yaggy Rd Rosting Company with different counters across from each other. Both have different rewards programs. The coffee shop going by Cashapp stars which the bookstore is in an internal system I believe.

Cute little book store with a coffee shop inside. Wasn't planning on buying a book but drinking a delicious coffee and walking around and here we are buying that indiana Ghost stories book 😅

The staff was very friendly and the armchairs were super cozy.

My favorite spot in Valpo! So cute and cozy. I’ve tried several different drinks and everything is incredible. I lived in Thailand for a while and I didn’t think I’d ever find comparable coffee, especially not in small town Indiana. Yet the first sip of my first latte was like being transported back to my favorite coffee spots where the beans were freshly harvested So good! Great atmosphere as well.

book store and coffee shop. Great place. Yummy fresh hot coffee brew. And hot specialty coffee too. Definitely a place to find any genre books for man, woman, teenagers, children and even toddlers. Gift ideas. Counter space at the front window. Also tables for 2 or 4. Even antique chairs in the back right corner. Cozy sitting areas. Good lighting. Separate register for books. Bright, crisp and amazing is my description of this place in a vintage building. Outdoor seating too. Support this small business. You will find tbis place right on Lincolnway. Parking all around the square too.

Great little shop! There were several diverse pourover coffee options. The one I ordered was very fruity, vibrant, and had great acidity!

Such a cute store! As soon as you walk in, you smell that warm coffee and new book smell. Delightful! Varied selection of books, notes from staff recommending different reads, and coffee bar. Highly recommend!

I love the feel of the press. The staff is so friendly. The drinks are awesome. The knowledge of the staff is amazing. I love their variety. Some of their books in the store, I've had such a hard time finding at BAM and B&N!

Coffee bar owners Ben are Walker are extremely knowledgeable and mission driven when it comes to coffee and beverages in general. Creative seasonal drinks. Not certified organic but coffee beans are grown organically and this is hard to find. It does make a difference.

I had been walking around Valparaiso, hardly ever visiting the shops on the main street. I came across this place and fell in love with it. A small and cozy atmosphere, and what's better than a local coffee place right inside? I loved it, from the unique sticker and coloring books, to the deep novels, to the amazing, unique coffee they made. I recommend this place if you're looking for something simple and comfortable to do, right in the ballpark of the perfect thing to do on a relaxing day.

Such a well curated selection of books. Passionate booksellers really bring the place to life. This is exactly what every smallish town needs.

Came here for the first time a week or so ago and I LOVE it. Right in downtown Valpo and near a lot of shops and restaurants.
Quaint little Independent bookstore that has a great selection. Didn’t try the sweets or coffee but the menu looked pretty good and they had vegan and gluten free options. I will definitely make this a go-to spot.

We have gone multiple times now and each time did not disappoint. The first time, I was able to have a really great chat with the owner and a staff member. They pointed out other events for me in and around the community to attend, which was helpful and I found gave to the community. During that visit also, my daughter found a book that we now all love in our family. Our second visit was just as great with fast and great service. We were also met with kindness once again. The third time we tried their coffee and loved conversing, learning, and enjoyed their pastry treat and the coffee they made. I have also ordered online and received a call when a book was on back order. The whole process felt personal and kind. I can tell they care and are trying to achieve and grow in ways to serve and help the community. Love it there.

This place has the best espresso based drinks downtown! They have specialty and traditional options as well as customization with tons of syrup flavors and alternative milks, and even with additives are much more affordable than those of other locations! Ben and Walker are highly knowledgeable in the roasting and specialty coffee industry and can help anybody find their new favorite cup of coffee. As for the bookstore the ladies running it are all very kind and helpful, if you don't find a book you're looking for they're more than willing to order it in for you! There's plenty of seating and outlets inside for students to study, and outdoor seating for those that wish to hang out with the downtown scenery. Can't reccomend this place enough!
