Officially our new local spot. Go on the weekends for the best carnitas you will ever have in your life. Everyone is so nice and helpful, and we were welcomed immediately! Can’t recommend it enough.

This place is an absolute gem !! The best skirt steak in the city , hand trimmed and tenderized right there by the owner . I wish I asked their names but this place is a true mom and pop shop. Very lovely people . Homemade salsa is top notch. If you like REALLY spicy I recommend the spicier one, so much flavor.

We love our little neighborhood bodega. They have all the essentials (milk eggs bread ice) you would normally expect, but also have a very large meat counter, well stocked produce section, and even some cooking tools. We are lucky to have CR close by in our community.

Family owned neighborhood gem. Along with the convenience of having everything you'd hope to find at a neighborhood corner store... They have fresh homemade salsas, their family barbacoa recipie, and delicious carnitas.

Excellent selection of meat, got the skirt steak and it was incredible! Very friendly and welcoming staff.

Was a little intimidated to get meat at the counter as I don't speak spanish but everyone was so helpful and kind! Great corner store with essentials and fresh meat and produce. Weekend special carnitas are incredible!

The nicest family owns this place! My son loves grabbing an ice cream bar from the freezer here in the summer and they have the BEST avocados and salsa around.

Incredible place! My husband and I have been going here about once a week for the last few months. Fresh produce, delicious meat selection, and friendly employees. I alway feel welcome and taken care of when I visit. The fact that it’s a family owned business makes me even happier to support them.

I absolutely love this little shop!! Family-run and by the nicest family!! Father and Son duo usually there to help you find what you need and are so friendly and helpful! They make fresh carne asada, and other Mexican meats on the weekend and they are AMAZING!! Most things are very reasonably priced, for being a convenience store. The access to fresh produce is actually quite amazing and it’s they have the best mangoes and Mexican avocados in the city! A true Chicago gem!! Just stop in and see the shop and meet the family- and you bet you’ll find some amazing Mexican (and American) goodies to take home!

I love this store. Everyone is incredibly kind and helpful. Also, if you go on Saturday or Sunday, be sure to get some carnitas. It is absolutely amazing. I always get enough for a couple meals because trust me, you're going to want it more than once.

Great carnicería, helpful staff and has most staples you could need in a pinch. The carnitas on weekends is iconic. I am not Mexican but love to cook Mexican food and the owners are always super friendly and helpful and have taught me so much about cooking or grilling Mexican food!

The workers are all so sweet here and their selection is amazing. They’ll even help you find ripe avocados so you don’t have to spend forever squishing them.

I love this little corner grocery store! It's a small, family run store and they really get to know their customers. The house chorizo is better than I've had from any other store. I really enjoy the carnitas and barbacoa on the weekends. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because they're pricier than a bigger store but I think it's a great place to shop.

I love this place. Super friendly staff, amazing well-sourced avocados, some of the best pico de gallo I have ever had, skirt steak and nopales, plus the usual assortment of Mexican spices and condiments. Well worth supporting. A real treasure in Avondale.

Came in to just check and see if their produce included tomatillos, since none of my normal spots carried them. They asked nicely if we were finding everything ok when we left without purchasing anything and we mentioned that we were new to the area. I came back later that day to get the tomatillos and some pork and they remembered us! Incredibly friendly and helpful family shop. I definitely recommend checking it out if you need to pick up the fixings for some tasty food.

This small grocer doesn't have every item you may need, but the family that runs it have been butchers for many generations. They have quality well cut and priced meat, plus meats that have been marinaded using their secret family recipe. The butchers are very helpful and can teach you how best to prepare your meat. The wife also makes delicious and fresh salsa. On weekends they prepare their own carnitas, barbacoa, menudo and cracklins.

Get your carnitas here on the weekends. The salsa that does with is amazing! The owners of this store always select perfectly ripe avocados for me.
