Menards

We have a goal to start a small backyard garden this year and came in to get the lumber needed to make 2 4x4 ft raised planter boxes. We were able to order what we needed at the back counter and then went around the building to the self service lumber. We were really confused how to find our items and a little intimidated by the self service saw, but Paco found us and grabbed what we needed on his forklift, then cut the lumber for us. All we had to do was load into our small suv. We tried to leave a cash tip but he wouldn't take it. This was a huge time saver to us when we were in a rush and I am very impressed. Thank you paco!!!

Anthony was so very polite and helpful in the yard while we were getting drywall. He has helped us before on another home project and he is always smiling and eager to help. He definitely deserves a raise!

As a contractor I know that I can count on Menards having what I need in stock. Too many suppliers have cut their inventory while Menards still has it. And the people are great to work with. Thanks, Rob

Excellent service was received today by Troy, at the Altoona Menards! He quickly helped us find a prestocked cabinet that fit the dimensions that we needed. Also, he quickly helped locate all of the needed accessories. He saved us a lot of time with his knowledge of the options available. Greatly appreciated!!!

This Menards is well-stocked; it's an excellent resource for the area. Update 9/22: the more I go to Menards, the more I like it. Lately I have been using the Menards app to find where specific items are. It saves time, and oddly enough sometimes I take a different route to get there than my typical search pattern, and as a result walk through aisles I haven't walked before, and discover other items I may make use of some day. Love this store!

Went in tonight to buy a fridge; it had a slight dent in it when I got home. I called them and the gentleman working in the appliance area was very helpful and refunded me $100 after talking with his management.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. They helped me find the wing nut I need super quickly and the checkout was nice and set up for COVID safety. I'll definitely come here again next time I'm in Iowa and need something. Also probably the cleanest and best lit Menards I've been to. Great store.

I work here and we try our absolute best to give people who are kind to us the best service. The issue with no one helping the one guest who had a complaint was probably because it was a Saturday when it was nice outside and the store was busy. It is in fact a big store and we have many things to do and gues to please. If you need help, you need to ask for it and be patient. We are a big store trying to please as many customers as possible and love helping others!

Great home improvement store with a huge selection. The new layout is something to behold! The expanded pet section is amazing, the new kitchen cabinet section is better than Lowes or Home Depot, and of course they still have a real lumberyard.

Menards' products are mainly all Made in China with few exceptions. They offer a great selection of building supplies, especially for any odd job and having a unique spread of "as seen on TV" style products. Menards is like the Wal Mart of building stores; the team members mainly are just stockers, their rebate program of 11% is bureaucratic snail mail paperwork and they don't carry top quality products.

So why five stars? Like Walmart, the stores are all pretty much cookie cutouts, so finding something you need is easy and I also leave with more things than can fit in my car. The rebate system is screwy, but it does work flawlessly. A word of caution: what they stock today, they may not stock tomorrow, so don't be like me and run out of trim halfway redoing a house.

They were open when everyone lost power. Help when all of us inside the store needed it the most. Holding to a mask policy early on, to try to keep everyone safe makes me happy to come back

The customer service rep, Ashleigh is the ONLY reason I can give this store 5 stars.

I purchased several fence posts and confirmed multiple times that they had them in stock prior to paying. I went ahead and paid over the phone and showed up that evening to pick up the posts.

It turns out they only had about half of what I just purchased that day in stock. I was so frustrated and about to just get all my money back and go elsewhere when Ashleigh fixed ALL of this. She went above and beyond for me by taking the menards rental truck to Clive, picking up their stock, and brought it back to the Altoona store so I didn’t have to get a refund and purchase the product at a different menards store.

Menards has an amazing selection of dog treats and dog food as well as other accessories but they don't carry Royal Canin dog food. So I went there for dog food they didn't have and left with lots of dog treats and bird feeders and bird seed. I'll just have to get my dog food elsewhere. But I do enjoy shopping at Menards especially without a mask.

Very good, Asked someone to help me find the ACs. He was very helpful. Then I wasnt sure if I could lift the AC off the shelf myself and into a cart. Went down one asile and another associate was more then happy to help me!

Want to throw a huge kudos out to Kat. I believe she is a front end manager. I had misplaced an order online and was not being able to get any resolution from Emily in customer service. The only time Emily would respond is after I would come in the store and Kat would reach out to her about the issue. Emily is a horrible customer service employee/horrible representation of Menards. Im grateful that there are kind people like Kat that go out of their way to get my order taken care of.

Went into buy a wall air conditioner this employee his name is Colin masters from floor covering which I came to find out later. I had every question from A to Z about several units he was so professional and patient and wanted to make sure 100% of a product I wanted and he wasn't rushing or just to make a sell and if he didn't know the answer he looked it up. I felt comfortable on the decision making and he put it on a push cart. Then I'm heading over to flooring 5 min's before they close and of course I found a 12ft roll of flooring so I went to another aisle and not knowing the employee turned around and it was Colin masters. I said I would like to but it but my car is only 8ft long. Colin said I can on roll it and roll it the other way then it will fit in my car, I said but you close in 2 mins. Colin masters said it's no problem, before I knew it he unrolled it and rerolled it so it would fit in my car. And carried up to the register along with the cart with my air conditioner. Menards is very fortunate to have such a professional, patient, pleasurable, knowledgeable human being that choose to work for your company mendards. Thank you Colin masters during this dangerous time of covid and smiling and working with public. I would say your corporate office and district manager really needs to give where credit is due and that's your quality customer service 110% thank you Colin masters

Bought a DE humidifier a couple years ago and it stopped working this season. It had a 3 year factory warranty so they exchanged the unit like for like. Very satisfied with my experience at menards tonight.
