This shop and its proprietor are such blessings! Erin is a great (and incredibly patient) teacher and is so knowledgeable and helpful. Plus she has an amazing inventory and the coziest shop. It’s the fiber-crafting equivalent of a great independent bookstore. All it needs is a coffee bar and then you’ll never want to leave!

Great find to see this yarn shop here on my stay for a conference! Purchased malabrigo Rasta and the most beautiful cotton-merino! There were so many gorgeous finished projects also, and a seating area filled with books. This was a lovely stop, thank you for being here!

The Fiber Universe is a perfect example of what small business can be and should be. The inventory is amazing for such a small space and Erin is an amazing resource. My skills have improved greatly after taking a few classes. I went from basic flat knitting to completing a sweater, a few hats, and have started a pair of socks, within a few months. The classes are helpful, but the support you receive after the class has ended really makes the difference as you are building your knitting confidence. Kudos to The Fiber Universe for being such a great resource in the community.

Peoria is very fortunate to have Erin and her lovely shop downtown. She has a variety of yarn and notions for any project. I have taken classes and increased my knitting skills with her help. She’s a great resource……always willing to help me when I need it…..which is what she did today!

The most ideal yarn shop. Great selection of Fibers, needles, hooks, project bags .. treasure every where one looks. A comfortable seating area to be able to join other Knitters or crocheters to socialize and work with Fiber. I have visited many shops all over the country and this is by far my favorite. Amazing yarn of all weights and colors. The owner is also creative and has a great eye for color.
Continues to be the yarn shop around.

Oodles of gorgeous hand-dyed yarns, frequent new products added to the inventory, and a shop owner who not only wants to help you find the perfect yarn for your project, but also helps you when you come in with a question. She even stocks pretty shawl pins, fun project bags, and all the needle cases, blocking accessories, needles, & stitch markers that you could possibly need. Awesome shop, even better owner!

Recently went in with some handspun wool I won in a raffle, Erin was very enthusiastic over my wool. And she helped me fine other colors to go with it for a lapgan. Everything is priced and easy to access. The only "problem" I had was choosing which yarns to buy. SO many options!! All very high quality!! LOVE this store!

I love this place! Not only is the service fabulous, they have an amazing selection of yarn! I got personalized help with my project , as well as suggestions for future projects. Shopping somewhere locally owned is awesome as well.

I live the Fiber Universe. Erin is so helpful and welcomes everyone whether a purchase is made or not. She answered all my questiins and explained the yarns I needed as well as explaining which of my own needles fitted the patterns I wanted to make.
