I absolutely LOVE this place! I come from central CT like a routine pilgrimage to talk with these knowledgeable folks and hear about their own experiences. Just wish I was closer to participate in their many events.

Not your average whiskey store, but in a very good way! There’s a fantastic selection of whiskeys (and some other spirits, as well) from around the US, and the world. Many are available to sample before you buy, and Holly is very knowledgeable about them all. If you’re looking to discover something new, then this is the store for you! I’ll definitely be back the next time I am in the area!

If you're looking for whisk(e)y, this is THE place in upstate NY to find something special. Each time I visit, I feel like a kid in a candy store; and I find myself repeating "Oh wow!" at the selection. Charles and Holly are both incredibly knowledgeable and super friendly. Although they are a small shop, specializing in rare whiskies, First Fill Spirits offers something for everyone, from answering questions and guiding a novice, to providing an amazing array of rare single-cask selections for whisky nerds like me.

Had the pleasure of visiting First Fill Spirits on a recent trip to Saratoga. Picked up a great bottle not available in my state (Lost Lantern’s Frey Ranch Soaring Spice). Holly was charming and very knowledgeable. As a dog lover meeting shop dog Leo was a special treat! If you are any near Saratoga and love spirits you need to stop here. A selection of bottles you won’t find in the big box liquor stores. Looking forward to visiting again!

We had an awesome event tasting Lebanese whiskies, Athyr Lebanese Single Malt and Levant Heights. Holly is very knowledgeable and hospitable.

Truly a special place for whisky lovers. They have such a depth of knowledge of whisky and desire to share it with everyone. I stopped by on a road trip and got a free education about the latest in the whisky world. Looking forward to blind tastings and other events here!

Great spot in Saratoga Springs, which has an intensely curated selection of Whisky & Rhum. Very knowledgeable owner with deep dives into the history, origin, process, and tasting notes. Highly recommended if you’re a connoisseur of good Whisky.

First Fill Spirits, a quick step away from Broadway along Washington St., is an unassuming and inviting store specializing in whiskey.

When you walk in, expect a dozen shelves with whiskey grouped by type such as Scotch, Japanese, Bourbon, and Rye. You may recognize some brands and might not - it’s visible many bottles (at all prices) are curated by people who know what they’re doing.

Shopping here this past weekend was a refreshing experience compared to other stores in the capital region.

Depending on how much time you have - speak with the owners, Charles and Holly. Any conversation will quickly reveal that these business partners are distinctly qualified to help you find a gem of a whiskey for yourself or as a gift.

Was visiting friends and was invited to join them at First Fill Spirits. The store’s floors and displays were in warm toned wood. Holly was knowledgeable, asking questions to help guide me in the selection of samples I tried. She didn’t try to sell, rather expand my usual choices. The bourbons, ryes and scotches are from smaller or less known distilleries around the world. This is the place to find the non major brand or soon to be discovered new ones. The price points are reasonable, even those in the premium range. I recommend First Fill Spirits not only for its “not the usual “ inventory, but to be treated well by people who truly enjoy whiskeys and sharing their joy.

First Fill spirits “fills” a much needed gap in the area’s fine spirits market. Their selection is second to none in terms of independent bottlings and unusual offerings. They have an ever growing selection of “new world” whiskies - you can find offerings from Poland or Denmark in addition to your traditional powerhouses of Scotland and Japan. My first bottle here was a Gordon McPhail 18 year old Ledaig. The price was very fair and the liquid was delicious.

Another factor that separates First Fill from the rest is their knowledge. Charles and Holly have traveled the world’s distilleries and accumulated a vast wealth of information to impart on every customer from a whiskey novice to the biggest of whiskey nerds. Their goal is to curate their selection of spirits so that you know that you’re getting a quality product that will impress.

And it’s not just whiskey on the shelves here - you can find other spirits like fine rums, Armagnacs, etc…again, all curated to the highest quality.

Whether you’re shopping for a special bottle for yourself or looking for a gift for a friend or loved one, you will find what you’re looking for at this great addition to Saratoga Springs and the 518!

Impressive selection of whisky and spirits from throughout the world. I was fortunate enough to pick up this fantastic Japanese bottle from Mars distillery. Plenty of parking available on the side of the building. Buttons was very pleased with my selection as well.

Holly and Charles have a passion for what they do and it shows! They have a shop packed with unique, high quality whiskies and will take the time to understand your tastes to help you find the right whisky for you! Definitely worth a stop!!

High quality, upscale selection, extremely friendly, and very knowledgeable on the intricacies of each of the bottles on their shelves. This is our go to place when we want something out of the ordinary.

Just what the doctor ordered! A shop that knows their product in and out. Beautiful shop within walking distance of Downtown Saratoga with an amazing selection of top quality Whisk(e)y from around the world. Just ask Charles or Holly a question and they will know the answer!! Can't wait to return.

This is an absolutely wonderful shop for whisk(e)y, rum, and cognac lovers and here's why:
1. Charles and Holly aren't just wonderfully personable people, but their breadth of knowledge about all the bottles in their shop (and whisk(e)y in general) is over a mile wide. You'll learn more than a thing or two during your visit.
2. The selection, and the prices for this selection, are unbeatable. Expect to not recognize the majority of the brands on the shelves.
3. Want to buy tasty whiskey, but too pricey to bite? Not to worry, because if they have it open, they'd love to have you try it. This is the only place I've ever been to that lets you sample their products, so you know you'll like the bottle before you buy it.
