Safeway

One of my favorite grocery places. It's well managed and organized. I usually have a good experience shopping with them. I also like their varieties and choice of products. I rarely come across a bad quality item. Sometimes I feel like exploring new products that I'm not used to. With Safeway, I find some interesting items to add to my shopping habits. Fruits and vegetables are especially important to me. I can't complain in this department. Still. I hope they continue to improve on their customer service and satisfaction.

Outstanding service in the pharmacy. I highly recommend it. I misplaced a prescription pill I take and I was out of town. They not only got it transferred here, but were able to offer me a lower price through their savings program.

Pretty great place to shop for food, and other such products with some good deals on top of that.
Their 8 piece fried chicken sales on Mondays at 4.99 is just something you can't beat, and they're quite tasty to boot.

Would definitely recommend the place if you live close by.

NORMALLY, meaning EVERY other time I came to this location to shop(which was hundreds of times), the customer service was horrible! The cashier's would rarely greet u, unless u spoke first..and for me, that has been a huge turn off and I prefer the Giant on H street better, due to their customer service. This Safeway is VERY close to where I live, to I find myself DREADING the experience before I even arrive. BUT I must say.. TODAY has been a PHENOMENAL EXPERIENCE! They were well stocked, ALL of the employees I encountered..whether stocking the shelves..at the deli, meat dept, hot bar were ALL pleasant! Which was a total shocker. What did it for me was a young woman named Monica at the checkout, she was PERFECT! I mean, from the customer service aspect, the friendly smile, awesome speed and politeness brought stars to my eyes. This store is in the process of being a welcoming, warm, delightful, friendly, well stocked establishment and I am over eager to see what the future may bring. PLEASE, PLEASE keep up the great work! One person can make a difference...that may hopefully change everyone in a positive way in the store. I thank you Employees of Safeway for FINALLY showing care, concern and friendly smiles to your customers. Every little bit counts and I personally have noticed the difference. From this day forward, I will not dread the idea of coming to this location..all because a handful of employees, including security were all happy, friendly, warm people. Horrible!!! The security guard spent the whole time I was there on his cell phone. The handicap vehicle carts were broken down and uncharged. One man was riding around in circles on the outside in a handicap vehicle cart.

Well I work here as a security guard, my lunch break is the best time for me because the hot food especially the chicken is better than Popeyes if you ask me and the price is even better.

This Safeway is always stocked with the essential necessities you want to keep on hand at home. Fresh baked goods, deli & hot food bars. Prepared food station & area to grab and go hop in line, and continue running your errands. Cold healthy drinks, fruits, salad, some snacks ststioned at the register & water on hand. That all you need to keep to going and head back home. Everyone take care. Be safe and don't forget you mask. 😷

The employees are the most friendly and courteous young people I have encountered. Even though it's the holiday season, they stopped whatever they were doing to help me. My shopping experience was enjoyable! A-Plus service. 🙂🙂🙂

This Safeway is convenient to WMATA transportation plus this location has courtesy drivers. Shelves are well stocked. You can grocery shop as well as pickup your medical prescriptions. There is a nice selection of fresh produce, cut flowers and green indoor house plants. Customer Service provides Western Union and money orders. There is a Starbucks located beside customer service and the aroma of fresh brewed coffee fills the air. Sometimes the lines can get long but you can ask Management to please open another cashier. Location has coinstar, key maker and mail box services. Restrooms are locked for safety reasons but a clerk will open for you and the restrooms are clean. Added plus is a Suntrust Branch located in the Store with Saturday hours. I highly recommend.

As of February 2018, this Safeway location is on the verge of closing for renovation for ~2 years.

It's in a very convenient spot for Capitol Hill residents, but is a bit cramped; this is precisely why they are redoing the store. I'm sad that I won't have the convenience of the Safeway for a couple years, but I'm excited to see what they look like during reopening!

I am truly going miss all the wonderful employees at Safeway located at 415 14th st. Kentucky Ave, SE. They closing to renovated the to the up coming development in the neighborhood. I have been a loyal customer for years there. I am truly heartbroken to see them close, I know it to improve, but it's like taken apart you away for good. John, Traci, Ms. Juanita, Sherri, the cashiers, the guys in produce and countless others who have come and gone through the years. I will miss you very much. Love a loyal customer. Very clean, well stocked, and friendly staff. This was my first time shopping at this store after being in the neighborhood for 3 years. I was very pleasantly surprised. I would go back & recommend.

Typical grocery store. Similar feel to Kroger. Beer is in the front left corner of the store. Almost thought they did not have any... They did not sell individual bottles. Would shop there again.

I stop by to finish my Thanksgiving shopping and the store was extremely busy. However it was well stocked and the lines were not too long. Even the manager Matthew was helping out with customers. Thanks you!

Great! Love this store. Carts are not available most times but wait a few moments and anther patron will politely give you their's when they are done.

I like this location...just bring your own grocery cart!

Pam the front end manager helped me and a farley new employee to try and find rice crispie treats. Unfortunately you no longer carry them.
Pam and David Willis took their time with patience to help find that Item from different aisles they may be in.
Oh so very very friendly and I cherish them both.
Tremayne Smith( the checker) had a very positive attitude.
I went through his line twice and his awesome attitude was still there.
Not only at the check out was he awesome but when I took my basket full of water out to be placed in a rider car who refused to help, Tremayne loaded them himself and with pleasure.
I thank them and all your staff for the awsome service they give from day to day at your Safeway store in Hechinger mall.
Oh, we can't forget the Security Officer.
He took the time to look for the aisle that had gift cards and didn't have to leave his post.

Nice and clean store bathroom ladies dirty and I slipped on the floor but contain it but was sore for a couple of days did not report it please clean the bathroom.
