Matreshkas Russian Gourmet

This is my first time visiting this grocery store but it certainly won't be the last. This small store has EVERYTHING which I was craving for many years.
They even have freshly baked piroshkis with beef, cabbage , my childhood favorites Napoleon cake and Honey cake. Taste like homemade!!! I decided to save time and order some premade Russian food for our family celebration and it was big success ! I live an hour away from the store but definitely worth it to drive there!

This is one if the best grocery stores for imported food from Russia, Ukraine, Caucasus and Central Asian countries. You can buy anything from premium caviar to pierogi. Also, they bake fresh bread, pies, and amazing deserts.
The staff is friendly and always ready to help find what you need.

I love the store for the homemade food and salami. Everything that they produce in the kitchen including the Napoleon cakes are just absolutely fresh and always delicious. I don't have to cook. Elena, the new owner of the store, as well as her daughter Myra are always very helpful and friendly. They are very passionate about what they do and take special orders for things that I especially like. I recommend the Russian salads and the selection of soups.

What a fantastic store, being a curious Latinx customer this was my first time in a Russian gourmet store and I felt intimidated and overwhelmed but the lady there was absolutely wonderful and was super nice. This is now one of my favorite stores and the food was amazing. Would visit again and recommend.

Amazing small bakery/market! Highly recommend for foodies and lovers of Russian, Ukrainian, Georgian, Eastern European foods/products. Great service as well!!!

The made in store products are delicious. In our family we especially like Pirogki with different stuffing. These are the best Russian style bakery all made from scratch. Pictures of pirogki with cabbage are attached. We love this store. 5 stars.

I am a big fan of canned seafood, and they have a ton of it! The staff was also very friendly. I had a pleasant experience, and I'm excited to come back and try other products.

Small store, but it has EVERYTHING from pelmeni to made in-house deserts and baked goods! The staff is attentive and pleasant to deal with! I absolutely love this store!

They are very friendly here! There is a nice assortment of Russian goods. It is the only place I know that I can get buckwheat (other than Whole Foods, but this buckwheat is much better).

I love this place! I married into a Russian family and these folks have taught me all about Russian food. We like them so much that they provided the desserts for our wedding. Everyone loved the variety.

The small and cozy grocery. The staff are very helpful and friendly. They are trying to sell products and this is really good, that I don't see at another store with a lazy personal. The cashier gave out treats to the kids.

I absolutely love to go to this store. I usually stop there every other week. It has a wide variety of food from Eastern Europe that is not available in other regular grocery stores. Matreshkas Russian Gourmet offers a wide variety of home style freshly in-store made food such as meat pies af all kinds, various cheese pies, mushroom pies, crepes with meat; it also has a wide selection of appetizers and salads just made in the store. In addition, the store makes a lot of their own mouth watering desserts, coming up with more and more new ones every time I allow myself to look at the bakery counter... If you take a look at the Deli department, you may have a selection of smoked cold meat and numerous sausages that are not available in other gourmet places.

I also have an excellent service there. It is also worthy to note that the store is very clean and the food is very fresh. Since Covid began, the store owners have been observing strict safety rules, so I always feel safe to go there. Whenever I need a break from my own cooking, Matreshkas Russian Gourmet is my first stop in Rockville! The men in my family are very picky but I know their favorites from this store, so this place helps to keep them happy when they open the fridge looking for something soul warming to eat... Lena, Mira, Vera and Natasha - Thank you for being there and inventing new dishes all the time!!!!

Always fresh, better than home food. Good selection of Russian, eastern European, Caucasian cold cuts, cheeses and produce. The real jewel of this store is their in store made food: borscht, salads, meats, bread and sweets. Be aware though, if you are not planning to buy some kind of food, do not taste a sample, it is impossible to resist to get more :). Also NEVER try the store made baklava... It is the best baklava you can try anywhere, it is made with honey instead of sugar, and simply melts in your mouth. And, yes, the service is always great and welcoming.

Great selection of authentic Russian foods and grocery items! Definitely gourmet pricing but my Russian girlfriend swears by this place so it's all good.

I love Matreshka Russian store! Everything is very fresh, they have a large selection of prodacts. The in store made products are highly recommended, the cakes also the best in town, especially my favorite cake "General". Very nice stuff , always trying to help as quick as they can. The best Russian store in Rockville MD.
