Terrific bookstore! The owners are fantastic. Super friendly and knowledgeable with a wide variety for readers of all ages.

I have a penchant for bookstores, and this one was a little slice of heaven in my weekend. Upon entering, the smell of books immediately puts the heart at ease. Since I'm from out of town, I was particularly interested in the section of local books available, but there were so many great options that I struggled to choose. I think I picked a good one though!

In addition to a good selection of books, there were also puzzles, games, journals, stickers, and more.

Amazing place to go! I love the owners they are incredibly sweet and there are so many new, great books on display at this indie bookstore. It’s such a relaxing, clean, well-run bookstore with interesting displays, toys, books for all readers, and a fun book club. Cannot recommend enough!

We decided to road trip to anywhere and stumbled upon this wonderful town filed with extraordinary people.
The owners of this intimate, generous little Indie bookstore are simply the most kind and welcoming folks we have met in our travels so far. Tom and Marlene welcomed, not just my husband and I but our 10 week old puppy, as if we were family.
The store itself is in a lovely green building, boasted by a very comfortable porch style outdoor seating area where all are welcome and inclusion without judgement is a way of life rather than a sought after idea. The store shelves are lined with new and old titles, local authors work, games, and lots of little unexpected cute finds. There is a nice variety of titles on just about every topic, the children and teens section are most notable.
Also worth mentioning, this little piece of magic participates in a non-profit program to encourage local youth to read at home. Bringing local authors in to meet the kids, participating in the, “Where is Waldo” small town campaign, offering discounts for reading and participation in activities, (for children) and welcoming everyone with such incredible kindness, Marlene and Tom go above and beyond to increase literacy awareness and bring books back to life.

Such a nice little store with jigsaw puzzles, books and more right downtown in Wardensville. I ran into the nicest couple and we had a great chat about books and the exciting things in this area of Virginia and West Virginia. My friend came away with many books. I especially liked finding the books about the history of certain aspects of Virginia and West Virginia.

What a find for me--totally unexpected to find an independent bookstore in Wardensville that would be exceptional located anywhere else. Worth a trip back, and the online purchasing is a plus, too.

Cute store. They have a little of everything for everybody. Found cute toys for my nephews, and a book for myself. Will definitely come back.

We have driven past too many times and finally had time to stop. Who can complain about a bookstore? Lots of new authors and some unique regional books. Definitely going to stop in again.

What a fun store for books, puzzles and games! The staff couldn't have been friendlier and more helpful. I always leave there feeling happier than when I walked in. :)

Wordplay is a gem of a store! It's a great place to buy a book or a game - they have a great selection, and the owners and staff are very friendly and helpful!
