Best card shop in town by far. The owners Corey and Hannah are wonderful people and they have cultivated such an amazing atmosphere and community. I have been going here consistently for 2 years and Corey greets me every time and is always a joy to hang out with. Hannah is such a helpful and kind person who consistently asks how her customers are feeling and makes sure that they are doing alright. Chelsea is such a silly, fun person who brightens up the shop every time she works and comes in. Mama Chestnut is such cheerful and welcoming person who is always willing to help out. I've spent a lot of money here and I will continue to come back.

Literally the most welcoming place for MTG players of ANY level. I came in having only been introduced to the game and Corey has been so patient and excited to answer any questions I had. He helped me build a commander deck within my price range and even double checked to ensure I was okay with the price of every card. His wonderfully sweet wife is also super happy to help and their adorable pup is often there to do some greeting. This place fosters a real spirit of fun, patience and advice amongst its patrons and there is always an open spot at any table for you!

I play here every Friday night for the Standard Magic the Gathering tournament.
The place is clean and has a helpful friendly staff.
Their card selection is decent with competitive pricing.
The owner is super friendly and is there nearly anytime I have come in.
They greet all people as they come in the door and are knowledgeable.

The reviews aren't wrong. I was in the Sacramento area to see my daughter. She knew I was wanting to sell some cards and her friend suggested I go to Corey's because "the have never done me wrong." When I got there I was greeted by Corey himself who immediately stopped what he had been in the middle of to come assist me.

I told him I had a few cards I was wanting to sell. I told them what they were but unfortunately they were in the middle of a few big buys and couldn't buy them. However, Corey made sure to give me tips on how to get the best price for them online, what to look out for at other stores, the best apps for the most accurate real time pricing, and even some suggestions on how to post them and ship them.

I have been to several gaming and comic book stores with my at the time husband and I have never seen one provide as exceptional service as I received at Corey's. I have heard nothing but great things about his wife who also works there.

I had tried to sell my cards in San Francisco and was offered about 20% of their market value. They are in good shape too. Corey's pays 60% cash! That is unheard of. Hands down one of the nicest people I have ever met, more than willing to share his time and knowledge, which he had a lot of. His passion for what he does is evident and his customer service is unsurpassed.

Very cool shop. The owner is very helpful and a great person to talk to and makes sure you have a good experience as you are in the store, even if you are a new player or a veteran player

Corey has helped me so much in building decks and becoming a decent player, but even more so as a friend and a homie. Never have I ever seen someone so willing to go above and beyond for someone and for everyone. He always provides exceptional service and enjoys it too. Hannah is so wonderful and an absolute goober. Chelsea is wonderful and her atmosphere lights up the store and Corey's mom is the biggest ray of sunshine as she is always positive and delightful to speak to and talk to. Everything about Corey's is perfect. The atmosphere, the knowledge, the people and the prices. This is the best place to buy Magic card, warhammer, yugioh. You name it and hes worth it. Kudos to being the best Corey!

It's a great welcoming LGS with a large array of games from mtg to the new Disney tcg on top of that the singles aren't overpriced

What else is there to say, Hannah and Corey are the best. I’m very new to MTG and Hannah has not only helped me out with any questions I had, but also helped me build 2 different decks and taught me how to play the game. If you’re looking for a very friendly card shop with an awesome atmosphere this is your place!

When it comes to stores that sell magic the gathering and other trading card games in the area you wont find a better Single card selection or a nicer it's organizer crew of people then you will at Cory's cards and games. Never had a bad experience is there. Always treated me very well and they always seem to have a couple games going. 11 out of 10 stars.

Hands down the best and my favorite card shop in sac town. At other stores, I’m just treated like another customer, but I really like how Corey and his staff actually care about you and take the time to talk to you. You can tell that they love what they do, and it reflects in how they run the business. This will always be the first place I go to, whenever I need anything card or tabletop game related. Great prices, and great service.

Very friendly and helpful staff. They will help you build a decks, find cards, and answer any questions you have. There is a good stock of items. There are plenty of tables inside to play all sorts of trading card and tabletop games. There is usually atleast one MTG commander game going on whenever I go in. On-site bathroom is nice too.

Absolutely love Corey's. By far the best card shop I've been to in the greater Sacramento area. Corey and his wife are such sweet and genuine people, both helpful and welcoming to anyone that comes in their shop whether they are new or experienced. Corey is an encyclopedia of knowledge that really levels with his customers in a way that you don't often find. You will never find customer service lacking in any way here. It's a fun, family friendly shop that I most highly recommend to all. Never shopping anywhere else.

My fiancé and I were on the hunt for stores selling YuGiOh cards, and we stumbled upon this lovely little store. Their case of YuGiOh singles isn't very big, but they host tournaments for the card game on two days. Thursdays are a little crowded due to two separate tcg tournaments taking place, but the atmosphere and the owner are very welcoming! I have yet to visit the store during the Saturday tournament, but I'll update my review accordingly. Ps. The owner's Frenchie dog is worth taking a trip to the store in and of itself!

This is by far the best shop I have been to. It is family run and it just has that welcoming feeling. Corey and family are above and beyond when it comes to customer service. And they are always willing to help teach you some things or help you build a deck. This is honestly the best gem in our area for MTG and other tcgs.

I haven't played or shopped here in a while on account of moving across the state but I'd recommend this shop to anyone I know purely based in knowing the owner.

Corey is a great guy who was running a great shop last I left it.

He has fair prices, listens to the community that plays at his shop and just genuinely cares about providing a good experience to his customers.

Last I was there the place was a little small and under renovations but I'm sure by now the place is looking spiffy.

I have lived in LA now for almost 8 months and have yet to find a shop that comes close to Corey's shop in terms of all around experience.

The only negative I have or had against the shop was just general size of the shop and it's general location, but you can't always get everything you want.

Oh also last I checked he was very active in getting different community events, games and different formats going.

So yeah if you want a place with an owner who loves card games and cares about providing a quality place to shop and play this is where you wanna be.

This is the best card game/Magic location in the Sacramento/Placer area. I've gone to a lot of other locations in the area for Magic and I always find myself wanting to come back here to play. Corey and his wife are super knowledgeable about the game, plus they will teach you how to play and talk strategy with you. They have tournaments multiple times a week for Magic and the people that go here are fun to play against and are friendly as well. If you haven't stopped by here to play, you should stop by for a Friday Night Magic or Saturday standard showdown.

Great staff and card selection. Good and fair prices. Plenty of snacks and room as well. Well lit. Cleaner then most card shops. Good store culture. Staff always adheres to pandemic guidelines and has masks and plenty of hand sanitizer as well which is nice and doesn't make you feel guilty for coming out to support in these times.
