I’ve reviewed these guys before, but I’m going to leave another because it’s always such a good experience. If you need skis or snowboards waxed and tuned, or need gear, or whatever just come here. Don’t mess with other stores. Honestly, these guys could do a terrible job waxing and tuning my snowboard and I’d still recommend them because they’re just nice, solid guys. Way better than the other store down the street. Use these guys.

I absolutely love this place I've never had anything less than an amazing experience here. I've bought 3 boards, some trucks, and a few sets of wheels currently and I plan on buying more. the staff is very kind, respectful, and knowledgeable and have helped me out when I wasn't sure about something. if I could give this place more stars I would but I'm unfortunately only limited to 5.

Skate Mom's that want to take their kid for their first skateboard, Intermediate skaters looking for an upgrade, and experienced skaters looking to vibe with some good people, LISTEN UP!

I was looking for all of these qualities and was welcomed by Jake and Dirty. Jake was the one that helped me but from start to finish was such a friendly dude. I explained that I am a BMX rider and my brother is the skater. I'm not local, but am here on business for a month and don't have my bike, but needed to go to the skatepark and just cruise around.
I told Jake that I've only ridden hand-me-downs or Walmart boards and had no idea with which size board to get, brand of trucks, wheel size, wheel bearings, or anything else to get.

Starting with the board, I asked Jake what size he recommends. He told me the common sizes and asked my shoe size for an idea. He showed me the sizes and even let me stand on the plastic-wrapped boards to get a feel. Jake described to me the benefits of different shapes and widths of the board for different styles of skating.
I ended up with an 8.5 size Real brand board for my size 11 feet.

Next, were the trucks. I asked Jake to show me some cheap trucks. He quickly showed me some cheap, but quality trucks. I said, "okay, now show me a couple sets of trucks if you weren't too concerned for the cheapest, and want some extra quality." He showed me a few more and explained that on was a bit higher, and the other a bit smaller, both for different styles and feel. The one had a lifetime warranty as well, but they were all silver. I told him I kind like the black colored trucks for the look I'm going for. He reassured me that the ones I was considering are a great choice as well and a quick explanation that his frequent customer usually rides a different brand, but bought the black ones recently and is really enjoying them because they are comparable.

After that, we moved to wheels. He knew by now that my style was mostly to cruise around, ride some bowls, and maybe learn some tricks later. With that in mind he pulled out about 5 options of wheels and explained the pros and cons of the different sizes and styles. I took is info and asked about a different set with a design I liked. Again, he reassured me they were good and told me how they compare to the ones he recommended. I now had some wheels.

Then, we picked out bearings. I told him I've only ever heard of Reds brand bearings. He pulled out 2 styles of Reds brand being the priciest, 1 cheap set (I think they were Mini Logo), and 1 priced in between (Bronson Speed Co.). He explained AGAIN in detail the differences in the construction of the bearings. The cheap ones were "good for what you're paying", The Reds are tried and true and have been around forever for a reason, and the Bronson priced in the middle were good, used by some pros as well, and what Jake himself is using currently. I went with the Bronson Bearings.

Lastly, the grip tape. Jake has been so patient with my questions and indecisiveness all the way up to this point, and that didn't end with the simplest, non-critical, but still custom option you could put on your board. He showed me about 10 different colors and designs of grip tape with the same enthusiasm as everything else. I went with OG black, but there were some pretty cool options for a bit more cost.

I paid about $170 for a FULLY custom board to my liking. Don't worry, if you want to go cheaper there were prebuilt boards and cheaper parts as well. After paying, Jake put it all together for me (with some truck risers thrown in for a better feel) right there on the spot and let me try it out to see if the trucks needed tightened/loosened for balance and feel. I asked him to tighten them and he was happy to.

During all this he was greeting every customer that came through the door and just seemed to be everyone's best friend. He even gave me his info and told me to let him know if I need recommended spots to skate, or a helping hand. Thanks for a great experience! SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SKATE SHOPS!!!

Stopped in to find a gift for a friends birthday. I was welcomed right away and treated with respect and urgency the entire time I was there. I believe the person that helped me went by Dirty. I hope that’s right. 😅 he helped me build a set up any skater would be proud to skate and gave me several options to choose from in different price ranges. Thanks for making his birthday gift great. He loved it and did a kick flip immediately!

As far as I am concerned, there is no other skate shop in OK. Jake is the man, and his reputation proceeds him and his staff in every way. Very cool, humble, and helpful people, with tons of knowledge in the skate/snowboarding world. The best quality equipment for anyone who cares about extreme sporting. Core Board Shop is a perfect score all day long!

I was very impressed with the guys at the store. I wanted to upgrade my son to a real skateboard, the guys were very helpful and informative. They showed us all price ranges of items instead of just trying to sell us the most expensive things, which is very respectful and appreciated because my son doesn't need a "pro" level board yet. We just needed an affordable practice board that he's going to destroy as his skill improves.

We will definitely be buying his next board here!!!

Literally the friendliest people you will ever meet! I’ve only shopped here a few time and every experience has been a good one! They are an extremely friendly, helpful, respectful staff, and have always had what I was looking! Even if you leave with buying anything I’m sure you’ll leave with a smile on your face! In OKC for a work trip. Been wanting to try skateboarding for awhile now so I stopped in to Core based on the amount of reviews here. Staff was super knowledgeable. Had me test fit different size boards and then picked out each component. They then assembled the board for me and I was able to ride. Awesome little skate shop!

Only my 2nd experience with the shop, but both times I have been in these dudes have been awesome. They make you feel welcome and like your part of the family. Decent selection and plenty of advice and good vibes. Check it out. Glad I did.

I've gotten to see a lot of shops along a cross country skate trip and this one by far has to be my favorite! Jake is so welcoming and extremely personable, even without buying anything it's a great environment to hang out in. Sadly they were sold out of shop gear, which I was mainly looking for, but I got to see him help another customer and he was extremely knowledgeable and super helpful for them. I will definitely be coming back to Oklahoma mainly for this shop and to experience one of their Sunday sessions!
