Shelves stocked, fruit and vegetables of the best quality, courteous staff. Prices higher than some, but no food waste when you buy top notch!

I love thrifty foods they have a great organic section and carry items wal mart wouldn't dream of carrying 😉

They have good bakery food. Short and sweet just like the bake goods. 👍

It's conveniently located in the hillside mall. A decent selection of produc. Very good for a Canadian grocer. The highlight for me though is the live Pacific king 🦀 during summer times. They are kept in the aquarium still swimming. The price is unbeatable. The 🦀 are harmless yet very cunning, though their front claws tightly binded,. and I noticed on several occasions that the staff were too scared to catch them bare handed.

I purchased some flowers for a baptism ceremony at the church on May 21st. The florist with short hair warmly greeted me and asked me how long the flowers should be kept fresh. She skillfully packaged the flowers, creating a stunning presentation. I am certain that the recipient of this gift will enjoy it. Once again, I express my gratitude to her.

Lovely local garden centre. Neat, and organized. Lots of beautiful seedlings. Super knowledgeable and helpful staff. Only downside it isn't open every day. Won't go to any other nursery in Victoria area again.

Busy but a good place to shop for quality groceries

Great grocery store with amazing quality. Biggest thing I see is the employees seem to really enjoy working there. As someone who has helped their employees in the past with their home purchases, I can tell you they take care of their people. You're not just buying fresh, but also from a company with strong standards and values for their staff and customers.

Great selection of local products including The Very Good Butchers products made in Victoria!

Better quality than a lot of the other grocery stores

I walked into this Thriftys location for one item, eggs. I left with that one single item.
I decided to write this review because I have a smaller Thriftys location right by my house. Both locations have easy access and ample parking.
This particular location in Hillside Mall has the clear advantage of sheer size. This one factor alone makes me want to shop here more often.
I love the way the stores are laid out. The lighting in the bigger store is so much better, warmer, it makes it feel friendlier and provides a level of comfort I simply don't have in smaller stores.
The cashier was polite, kind, but lacking in friendliness and personality. Had difficulty making eye contact, no smile, and zero engagement other than to ring in my purchase with a near disdain maybe because I was only buying one item? He made sure I had my receipt for my purchase and when I said I wished him a good day, he really seemed to visibly brighten.
So I ask all customers, be kind to those who are working these frontline positions. They really need the positive reinforcement of a smile and kind word.

Favorite store by far.
Their bakery is top notch, fresh, wide variety of recipes.
Items are high quality for price. Clean, organized (also newly renovated)
Staff is one of the friendliest grocery store staffs in Victoria & very helpful if you need anything.

Great selection of meat, fresh food, and the bakery has the best carrot cake.

Thrifty Foods have a good selection of products, helpful staff and quality produce. The price may be slightly higher than other stores but you know you are getting good quality. Items on sale are competitively priced. Had to make one more visit before this week's deals expired. Love shopping here.

This location (hillside) is always lovely. Staff are friendly and helpful and the bakery always makes my mouth water. The produce here always looks great, and the butchers at the meat counter are always willing to help you out so you get the exact cuts you need. Love shopping here!

I had a nasty fall this afternoon on a run a few blocks from the store. I ran there knowing they'd have a first aid station with a nasty scrape bleeding seriously down my left leg. The team was prompt and acted quickly to hail their first aid attendee (Liam), who escorted me to the aid station. I was thrilled with the quality of service I received and passed along my gratitude to the store manager directly. Not only was the store's team responsible for an important good deed, but they were instrumental in helping get me patched up good as new.
