Longer Page Descriptions Are Appearing
META title and description character space is precious. One of the biggest struggles an SEO specialist faces is writing the perfect (attention grabbing) title and description that doesn't exceed the maximum allowed characters Google displays.
It was rumored for some time that Google was going to bump the character and when I began to see search results displaying longer descriptions I was beyond happy.
For the past few months, I've been testing different META description lengths on various sites. I'll admit, I was a little nervous because I do not want to anger the Google algorithm gods.
While I can't say what the absolute maximum character limit is, I can tell you that writing a META description between 175 - 200 characters seems to be a good range to target.
Upon checking Google Analytics 1-2 weeks after making the edits on a website I chose to do some testing on, 70% of the pages showed improvement in impressions and clicks. Keyword search analysis pulled from Google Webmaster Tools Search Console also showed improvements in impressions, clicks and overall ranking position.
So what does this mean for you and your website? Time to rewrite all of your site's page descriptions if they are under 150 characters. Yes... even if you just did them.

Just went in to buy coffee and creamer but with their low prices, I was able to buy more than what I bargained for. The store is well stocked, clean and organized. The employees and cashiers are friendly and helpful, Great job guys.

I shop here all the time. Great prices & specials. Cashiers are regularly nice and only bad might be long lines on rush hours but I think thats pretty much anywhere in Hialeah.

There is a supervisor at the door making sure that masks are worn and shopping carts are sanitized prior to shopping, they also provide wipes for the shopper, the store is clean and I found what was looking for. Social distancing is also practiced at this store.

Winn Dixie transitioned from the old brand to this new and fresh one, and I have to say the rebranding is great. Everything in these stores are clean and new and yellow. Great prices that beat Walmarts and Publix's pricing

I shop here about once a week. Their prices are a bit cheaper than publix. The place is organized and clean and the staff is very friendly.

I maninly use this store for the restroom. Its perfect, clean and works. From time to time ill buy some chips and minor groceries and the employees are pretty nice.

Winn Dixie has made a 180 with their rebranding. The places look cleaner, well-lit, fully stocked, and cheaper prices from what I can tell.

Rented a Carpet Cleaning Machine, they have many machines available at a good price with attachments and shampoos.
