I love this place. It reminds me of a place I use to go to when I was little. Great people great food all around best place in town. Sandwiches are jam packed full. No worries about being hunger after eating one(that's if you can finish it) bakery goods are out of this world. The people, well what can I say. They are the best. Friendly, kind, funny, helpful and love to joke with you. My kind of place. Come check out Gowell's on Hampshire Street in Auburn.

Gowell's Variety has some of the best and friendliest people working behind the counter and in the kitchen. The food is always good, fresh and reliable. I order regularly and never regret it. 5 stars

I use to go to this store daily but then moved out of the city and haven't been there for a year or so. Awesome to see all the homemade goodies they have. From donuts, apple turnovers, puff pastrys, and so much more! They also have homemade dinners, like Shepard Pie and I know they also make so much more! Friendly staff so if your in their area definitely worth stopping in! I love it there and I will definitely never wait that long again to stop over!!

Absolutely love this place. The best place for sandwiches, there big an there heavy . Thay know how to make one . Take my word for it try em . I travel from Lisbon to get one or two lol . An thay have chester chicken 🐔. Yum yum.

My husband and I absolutely love their sandwiches. My husband insists they make the best lobster rolls/subs in town and they don't skimp on the lobster! I'd recommend their chicken salad sandwiches! Delicious! Really, you can't go with anything on their takeout menu! The people who work there are always super friendly and polite! It's truly one of those special little neighborhood corner stores!

always enjoy gowells and love all the goodies especially for the kids. some prices on things are a little bit high. it's convenient and has good variety of items and in walking distance. workers all nice and friendly and it's clean which is extremely important! I love the TGIF potato skins chips. I would love it if could get the sour cream and onion potato skins. I would buy them everyday! I can't find them here anywhere in that flavor. I brought some back from Pennsylvania and everyone I know loved them so I know they would sell! Love the varieties in store. Kids enjoy this store! This is going to be a childhood memory for kids. Going there and getting goodies..Every kid I know loved this store! How could they not! I like seeing the kids get excited. The young kid owners son I believe is very sweet and just so friendly. All the workers are just nice people. The Ghost drinks are hard to find but gowells always has good stock and things can't find at other stores. Thanks to all at Gowells! Our favorite neighborhood store!!!🙃🙂

The store is a friendly and family owned store. My favorite type of store. Great food, decent prices and the owner's son likes to talk your damn ear off. He's alright, I guess. Smokes the meat like no other and killer sandwiches. So stop in, grab a pulled pork/chicken sandwich, salt n vinegar chips and a Blue Dew. Enjoy. 🤘😝

We stop here almost every day! The homemade desserts are amazing! Chesters chicken "on the fly" fingers and potato wedges are my favorite. Prices are reasonable and the staff is super nice and efficient .

I can't even move away bc then Gowells won't be in my neighborhood anymore lol. Been going to Gowells since a kid, always great quality food and service. Me and my family just finished 2 large pizzas tonight from Gowells and it's so not fair for my figure how good the food is. Support this local family business, I've seen them be the heartbeat of the Hampshire St neighborhood and the food is always on point. My favorite corner store in the world. I need a Gowells t shirt lol.

Gowells is a great store, with many different options in the grocery area. Their drink selection is typical as well as the alcohol I'm assuming(don't drink lol) The sandwiches are awesome, the pizzas great. Of course their premade dinners are amazingly home cooked meals... I live off them on the nights I have too much to do outside of cooking.

Love walking in to this store and feeling welcomed by the employees because we go there everyday for something! :) The food is really good especially the Chester Fried Chicken!!! yum :)

This store is my neighborhood store they treat me and my children awesome prompt polite.. they recently remodeled and it looks great .. there food is great bakery stuff even better!!
