Smokin' Dave's Backyard BBQ & Grill

LOVED IT!!! we had a 1/2 rack of the most delicious ribs. The inside was beautiful with gorgeous hardwood floors and the most pleasant staff i have ever dealt with. It is quiet, cozy and adorable. Would eat here again anytime. (I did not like the coleslaw or pasta salad but I am picky and it did not detract from how awesome the food was)

Every time I go there. I think I found my new favorite meal but hands down. The ribs are just the best I eat them on my way home so my wife doesn't know I got extra food with our meal, a must try 😁. Awesome people, The best food.

We utilized Smokin' Dave's for catering for the night prior to our wedding this summer. Dave and Marcia were helpful in assisting us with building the menu for our event and provided a delicious meal that our guests enjoyed immensely! Highly recommend!

Hands down the best bbq I've had. You definitely get more than enough for a meal. The pulled plate is massive! Yum yum AND they offer GF options. In love with this place. We will be back.

As of 2022, they have left their Norway location and moved back to their roots - a food truck. They are usually located in Oxford unless attending a special event.

Really good BBQ. My fiance had a half rack of ribs that she described as "the best ever". I had a really good brisket sandwich with two types of BBQ sauce and a side of Mac and Cheese. There is a wait for your food - be patient, it's made to order and is not something you want rushed. We were lucky to meet Dave as well. Super nice guy and very much wants to see you have a good experience. If you are in the area and hungry for BBQ, go find the hidden gem.

The best steak and cheese sandwich I've ever had. Perfectly cooked steak with visible smoke rings in the meat. I had the chili for my side...this was a huge mistake. I should have ordered a much larger chili, it was fantastic. Well done Smokin' Dave's. I'll be back every time I'm in the area.

I discovered this place a few months ago. Smoking Dave’s has been a go to, once a week since then. Thank you for the great BBQ and customer service!

My friend and I had the sincere pleasure of eating a delicious lunch at Smokin Dave’s today and everything about our experience there was amazing! To begin with, our waitress, Sierra, is an outstanding server and she has the best personality and was so attentive to us throughout our entire time there, which was so greatly appreciated! She truly is amazing at her job.

The food that we ordered, which consisted of pulled meat platters and a to go order of St Louis ribs, with baked beans and the cheesy potatoes were all outstanding and the best barbecued food I have ever eaten in Maine! Everything was so delicious and so well prepared and the prices were incredibly reasonable as well! My compliments to the cooks and the kitchen staff as they clearly do a wonderful job!

I highly recommend this restaurant to others and I truly can’t wait to go back and dine there again!

We had our wedding catered by Dave's last weekend and the food was AMAZING! We heard nothing but great feedback from guests and we definitely enjoyed the meal ourselves!! They were excellent to work with throughout the planning period and for the wedding itself. Thanks for everything!!!

We ate out at the picnic table on the front porch, Sierra was our very jubilant server! We know 2 employess, and the place was very welcoming!! The smokey aroma fills the air, and the drinks are ice cold! Ribs were absolutely melt in your mouth and the cornbread is small but warm and toasty! Just a down home feel to the place!!

The chicken, pork, and beef BBQ plate was excellent and the portion was very ample. Loved their original and spicy sauces. French fries and onion rings were also very good. Definitely recommend! Will be back. Wish I lived closer!

Loved it! They had two big 'ol smokers going when we pulled into the parking lot! The smell was to die for! Only went inside to pick up the food, but it felt very cozy and welcoming just walking in. Smelled just as good inside, too! Oh, and the food was amazing! Can't stress that enough! Can't wait to go back there and actually sit down to eat!

This place is awesome! Huge wood fired smokers in the parking lot produce amazing meats. I am so happy to see they seem to be doing well at their larger location. The seating area is clean and nicely decorated, I like how they left all the interior walls intact so the place retained its charming farmhouse feel. The waitstaff are super friendly and effecient. The food...absolutely delicious! Chicken, steak, burger were loved by everyone in my family. Yummy corn muffins and homemade mac-and-cheese. Another one of the excellent, single-owner local business on Main Street. It's worth the trip even if you are not local.

The setting is beautifully renovated turn of the century home. The staff makes you feel like one of the family. The food is better than anything my Mom ever made, (sorry Mom). I only wished I could have cleaned my plate to be able to have some of the bread pudding for dessert.

The appetizers are wonderful, service is great, and the smoked meats with housemade barbecue sauces make for an excellent meal.

**Update**My review was when they were in their old location. They have since moved into a much larger location.

Place is small but very cute and the staff is so friendly. The food definitely makes up for it, so delicious! Homemade Mac & Cheese and the homemade chips are excellent. I definitely recommend getting the lemonade to drink (free refills) and it was delicious.

The food was really good, with very plentiful servings. A hint of delicious aroma was in the air in the parking lot -- coming from the huge smokers at work. A fresh from the oven corn muffin was a grand beginning offered by our wait person. The inclusion of an oatmeal stout from the Norway brewery hit the spot and was a good suggestion as well! Certainly a meat lovers paradise, and I think no one left much on their plate. The pulled pork, chicken and brisket were all tender and good smoke flavors. Service was terrific- friendly and attentive. Lovely Victorian woodwork everywhere in the dining room, and so beautifully restored were a pleasant and unexpected addition. All in all- a fine treat! And the homemade baked beans are not to be missed.

We ordered food for a family gathering for about 35-50 people, an assortment of ribs, rib eye, chicken, some apps and desserts. Dave and Marcia were there in the AM to greet us when we picked up the food, and took the time to go through the assortments and heat up times and temp. Staff was also very friendly and helpful. All of the food was fresh off the smokers and grills. Everyone at the gathering RAVED about the food, and an order for 35 people more than fed everyone with TONS of left overs. I will be eating moinkballs for breakfast and lunch all week. I would highly recommend Dave’s. The food was amazing and you can tell they really care about their business and customers. Thank you!!!

On a trip up from Boston to visit some family I came across this place. First off, I could smell the BBQ from a mile away. I drove by about .5 miles from my grams house and coincidentally my grandmother was ordering ribs when I got to her house. I have to say as a cook for over 10 years I was amazed at how well cooked and fall of the bone these ribs were. Very flavorful and 100% worth every single penny! You get your money's worth and even have midnight left overs! :)
They were so good that when my friend went to visit today I made him bring me back a rack. :) Thank you to the owners for being so accommodating knowing there was a long ride ahead and I appreciate you taking such pride in the art of cooking!! I am very grateful and will suggest this place to everyone I know who is in the area!! ❤
