I was looking to buy an angel food cake, and asked a very nice lady if she knew if there was any, today. She said all there is sugar free, and then another bakery worker, came out from the bakery and said that he will get me one!!! YAY
And he went and got me one, and packaged it right up for me.. That employee's name is Ryan, in the Fortuna Ca store, #975, bakery department.

Let me tell you I was so happy!!!

Consistently an above average experience. But the baker is amazing watch for his creations wether bread or donuts I only get what he made.

Always a great experience going here! The order is always correct no matter how big. Service with a smile is very important to me, and they got it.
My regular order:

Veggie fried rice
Szechuan tofu
Spring rolls

They hit the target every time! Food is amazing!

This is a late post: I ordered their turkey dinner for Thanksgiving and it was BOMB! Saved me the hassle of cooking it all by myself by just having to reheat it. The cooks did a great job, the whole dinner tasted great! Thank you very much for even offering something like that, very much appreciated. God Bless you all.

Safeway might have slightly higher prices than most of other local grocery stores. But the produce is always the best in the area. My veggies have longer lives at home before going bad. The staff is awesome and always treat me with respect.

Love their $5 Fridays! They have the best fried chicken and 8 pieces only $5 on Friday. They have a decent alcohol selection and food selection. Need better make up selection, they have a ton of hair products and body washes ect. Good hair dye selection but then they have 1 brand make up and it's only eye liner and mascara. Possible foundation.. ｟Maybe｠ but it's still the best grocery store in Fortuna.

Lively bunch of people who truly take care of their customers and their needs.
Store is always clean and people are always working to insure the store looks great and is stocked.

They now have curbside pick up. I have been driving into Fortuna at 6am so that I could get my grocery shopping done before there were other people in Safeway. Now that they have online shopping and curbside pickup I can do all my shopping online, set up a delivery time and never go into the store. The personal shoppers are absolutely awesome. They do a better job of selecting meat and produce than I could. The delivery is so easy. I pull into a marked space call the number on the sign and a couple of minutes later my trunk is loaded with my shopping and I am on the way home.

My daughter's first birthday was yesterday and we ordered 5 giant trays of food from the deli. Two fruit trays, a veggie tray, a slider sandwich tray and a sandwich roll tray. Honestly, I was a little nervous about it.

However, when we got there to pick them up they were ready on time, they were GORGEOUS, they were in beautiful packaging and the staff helped load them up quickly. Once at the party we opened them and even after transport and sitting in a car for an hour they looked beautiful and everything tasted great.

All fresh, beautiful food was used and I could not be more pleased with this experience. I wish I had taken pictures of the trays. I will have no issues recommending and using Safeway for parties in the future. I'm glad we over estimated and had leftovers. We get to enjoy this yummy food today now too!

The people in the deli at the Fortuna Safeway are very kind and understanding. My brother and I were running late and even though they were closing up they still took the time to sell us the last of their bao. They were polite and never made us feel like we were putting them out.

Safeway the dollar store Rite Aid and the laundromat in particular are very clean in appearance. The cashiers and people that stocks the shelves are very helpful. Plus the security guard for the parking lots does an excellent job of taking care of any problems and being respectful to the people that come there to shop. You know I give them five stars. Good job guys.

The staff was short handed and an employee noticed I had alcoholic bottles in my hand while waiting in line. The employee silently opened a lane just for me and said, "I know you couldn't go through self-checkout so I'll take care of you!". Great job Safeway!

Quality whole foods. Just don't purchase your can goods here. Way to expensive. Excellent wines and deals on them. Some brands of bottled wine you pay for one at regular price and get the second bottle for a penny! Must be the same wine. Excellent excellent deal. Enjoy

Safeway gets 5 stars because... it's a grocery store. Clean, well stocked, etc. But I do have a gripe with all multiple cashier stores. Banks have had one line and multiple tellers forever. Fry's Electronics also. I remember my mom shopping at long-defunct club store called Gemco. You'd put your cart in line, take a number, and sit down. When they were done checking and bagging they'd call your number so you could pay. Then they would meet you in the parking lot with your cart. When I suggest a single line, managers and employees look at me as if I'm crazy. I may very well be, but it's still a good idea. Post a few signs, add some arrows to the floor to go with all the social distance markings... I don't understand why grocery stores can't grasp this simple concept!

We live in the mountains. This is our nearest larger Grocery store. We have lots of friends there, lived here for 12 years. Great place to shop, bakery, deli, meats, everything you need. Polite staff, always ready to help. Will recommend and I'll be back. :-)

Safeway is always the same.. busy yet the isles are neat, clean, and consumer friendly in their layouts. My favorite place to shop.

Excellent staff. Predictable layout. Good delicatessen and meat department. Veggies and fruits are fresh and appealing. Definitely a top notch grocery store

They are OK BUT , someone in charge for Dairy/Cheese area Doesn't do there job . OUT of 1/2&1/2 & Cheese . Almost every time I go to town .
Fortuna Safeway is a waist of my time.

In town for a few days and needed to stock up. Good selection of goods. Friendly staff.

We rode the Skunk Train on Memotial Day, 2016 and then headed for cooler country. We arrived in Fortuna and needed a few items so stopped at Safeway. I was amazed. The store was large and the options were many. The staff was exceptionally friendly snf helpful. The fish market was awesome. We didnt leave the area until Wednesday and stopped once again to buy fresh fish to take home. Again, staff was helpful and helpful. All the fish we bought was fresh, tasty, and the price was fair.
