Chavez Supermarket

Went here for a traditional Mexican breakfast and boy was it worth it. Super Burrito is amazing and if you get the Beef and Veggie soup be prepared for a VERY filling bowl. Also, the selection of bread is amazing if you're looking for that after breakfast dessert with your coffee.

Their tortas are amazing. The slight heat from the jalapeno is balanced by the creaminess of the mayo and sour cream. The beef tongue is tender. I just loved the crunch of the bread. It will get messy so get extra napkins.

The Al Pastor burrito is packed full of flavor. The al pastor is flavorful and and have crusty texture. The rice is a treat by itself.

Love the small store feel. Great selection and prices. They have fresh baked stuff and a full service take out section too which is unbelievable for a store this size!

Luz the girl at the cashier was great. She offered to take my order of carnitas ahead of time so that they were ready when I came back. When I went back to pick up my order. It was ready to go. Thank you again.

Chavez is a treasure! The best, freshest meat anywhere for grilling! You can buy meats like Asada or El Pastor pre-seasoned, then toss on the grill for 2min and it's amazing! Or, get it bare and add your own special touch. The restaurant (while a bit small) has the most delicious food in the Bay Area! I drive from Fremont, across the Bay, just to get a couple of the famous Super Quesadillas. DELICIOUS! Everything is fresh, guacamole is made there daily. Portions are decent. I've been a customer since 2003-2004 and absolutely love it! I highly recommend everyone try this place at least once! You won't be disappointed!!

The taqueria part of the market is awesome! Everything I've tried is so good! Totally recommend it. Love going and so convenient after work if I'm looking for a thing or two that I'm missing for dinner.

This Chavez Market is miniscule compared to the others but it is so much better than them. The staff was super friendly and the other patrons were smiling and chatting amongst each other. 180 degrees from what I've experienced at the one on 5th Ave. The burrito was just ok but being treated like a valued customer and having some good banter with the cooks makes a so-so burrito taste like a top o' the line .

I went to Chavez Supermarket to purchase lunch from their taqueria. I took a look around the store while I was there and thought that it is a well run market and taqueria. The taqueria had a broad array of choices . I ordered a burrito and it was made to my specifications similar to Chipotle. They also have a pretty large fresh bakery cabinet. I was very happy with my apple turnover. It was fresh and crispy and had good flavor. The people there were friendly. There was a reasonably large area to sit at tables. I was happy with my visit to Chavez Supermarket.

Travis is absolutely good restaurant to eat they have burritos and all types of other food I gave it a five-star

We drove 25 mi from San Francisco for the goat burrito and try the baked goods. Friendly service. I have no clue what else I have but it is good.

Great for breakfast after hangover. Huevos Rancheros will save your day. Unusual setting inside the supermarket makes this local gem even more authentic.

Was told their super burritos wete the best in town, and my chicken super burrito did not disappoint... Highly recommended!

All Chavez markets are good, but Norfolk st. Is the best. Everything there is 1st rate. Try the Taqueria 4 lunch n ice cream after. 😎

Excellent latin food market great prices great staff and hands down the best carnitas I have ever had! I have no idea how they do it but they are good!

So good, they don't speak great English, but you can point and gesture what you want and don't want. It's so good, and they're reasonably priced and very friendly...

Love the tacos here but they are expensive. Real legit Mexican food. And they are friendly.

I like coming here in the mornings to get bread and Mexican hot chocolate! They have a small restaurant in store too, they serve breakfast lunch and dinner.
