Masterminds in all things percussion. Friendly and knowledgeable, no more expensive than going to some "national chain" musical instrument store. They took a brand new pedal out of a box just to let me get a feel for it before I dropped a chunk of money on something I wasn't entirely sure I'd like. Great folks. If you're a drummer and are tired of going to instrument stores where drums are an afterthought try Fred's shop out, you won't be disappointed.

All the people who work there including Fred of course are very experienced in percussion instruments. The prices are often lower than even the big box stores. There is a reason Fred’s shop has been there for over 40 years. He gets you what you need and doesn’t try to push the most expensive thing on you just to make a couple extra bucks. I went there to get my brother a new bass drum head for his drum set as a birthday present.

The gentleman running the store (I imagine it was Fred) was extremely helpful. He gave me his undivided attention even though I wasn't there to buy a whole new set of heads (like his customer behind me did).

He asked what kind of music my brother played (rock; plays for fun) and gave me his suggestions.

He had many styles to choose from. My brother loved the drum head (the sound) I got him. It was an Auqarian (Force 1 I think?)

Nice little shop with a lot of gear. Went in for some tension rods and a hoop. They had what I needed in stock and prices were good. Looks like I found my new first choice store.
