Wow. Took the whole family and ordered the shrimp poboy, buffalo wings, and the kids got chicken tenders with mac and cheese and cole slaw. Best meal we've had in a long time. The shrimp was out of this world, and the wings were so crispy and juicy. $14 for 10 wings and fries, how can you beat that? Service 20/10 seriously. Amazing experience.

Stopped in late at night, had fried and grilled shrimp and catfish, everything was delicious and amazing. Service was super friendly, atmosphere was very inviting and very neat. Would absolutely recommend it!

We saw this place as we drove down Campbell ave and decided to try it. Totally worth it.
Shrimp was excellent. Red beans and rice tasty. If you have never tried a hand pie save room for one. Yummy.
Our host was the owner and took very good care of us.

We got the mozzarella sticks, fried fish, gizzards, and shrimp po boy...MANNN! ALL of it was GOOD! If you near here, stop by and you will NOT be disappointed!

The food was fantastic, especially the crab cakes. The atmosphere was welcoming and friendly. A great last minute find for us that turned out yummy.

Second time visiting and the service is wonderful. Food just as delicious as the first time.

The fish filets were very good. The red beans and rice is excellent. Everything was delicious and the portions were very big.

My friend Brandon and me went there for the first time today it was clean the people were friendly and the food was made with love and care they have in house sauces that are to die for and their gumbo was perfection there portions were not lacking and they have something for everyone if your nearby of far away visiting them is definitely worth it

Everything we had was AMAZING! Very fresh seafood delivered every other day from Baton Rouge! The catfish was the best I've ever had. Portions were huge.

Came upon this fabulous gem of an eatery today and enjoyed the best lunch I’ve had in a long time. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious! Very reasonably priced as well! The menu selection has something for everyone. The staff was so wonderful and friendly. From someone who eats out at least once a day, trust me when I say you have to give this little place a try.

The coating in the fried shrimp was excellent, and on the fish too! Everything about our meal was outstanding

Just picked this place to stop and grab a bite on are way though . Totally by random. And the best shrimp and catfish I have ever had and the fried green tomatoes were amazing as well. Highly recommend this eatery.

Good is cooked fresh and fast service

Took my mother to Sam’s Southern for Mother’s day. Never ate there before today. The catfish was excellent, came out piping hot. Sides were great. The hostess, Moonya???, very kind and pleasant. The people that wrote reviews complaining about mostly fried foods being available… why did they even go there if that is not what they want? Apparently, they do not know what real “southern food” or Louisiana food is. Me and my family will be going again 😁.

We loved it! We stopped on a Friday afternoon and it was our first visit, but won’t be our last. Parking was easy but we got there mid afternoon. I got fried fish and shrimp and was very happy with it. The catfish breading was crisp and well seasoned. My husband got a shrimp po’boy and he said it tasted good. The proprietor greeted us and made us feel welcome. We’ll be back!

We originally went in because my mom was wanting fried chicken. They dont offer breast, thigh options and so she changed her mind and we were gonna leave. the guy convinced us to stay and said itll be the best food we had. Boy was he right! this place was amazing!! The food was HOT when it came out. They also gave us 4 sause options which were fantastic. The gumbo and red rice and beans were the best ive tasted and i thought i hated gumbo until this point. The mac and cheese were good and the 1 fish 5 shrimp was fantastic! im a big eater and still had to get a to go box. They were so so kind and sweet and i definitely 10/10 recommend!

I don't give out a lot of 5 ⭐ but between good food & even better service and hospitality, Sam's Southern Eatery is worth it.

Loved the fish. You can have it grilled with peppers and onions, fried with a corn meal coating or battered. All are good. They make their own sauces. You can have chicken or shrimp, too, but I didn't eat those. I tried my friends french fries, which have a light spice on them. All of that was yummy. The green beans were great, also. I had the creamy cole slaw, too. I like a little more vinegar in my slaw, but it was still good.
