KD Customs Diesel Engine & Machine

I've been a customer a few times now with AER.  Years ago had some injectors cleaned.  Recently had a modular 4.6 engine assembled, valve job on two pairs of performance heads, fixed a mistake by another engine shop with a backwards piston.  Everytime I walk into this shop Im treated with respect.  Communication is great.  Worked mostly with Kyle, friendly and  helpful. Long story long , I've been troubleshooting an issue with my truck for well over two months, only to hear false information from online forms and friends, I ultimately called KD customs to schedule bringing my truck in, I was greeted by Eric who was very informative and helpful. He did some research and went out of his way to get some information for me and helped me troubleshoot my isue, KD customs has a new customer thanks to Eric, this guy deserves a raise

Dropped a set of heads off for a Subaru to get pressure tested and checked out. Took about a week to machine and clean but they came back great. Wrapped, assembled and and in working order. Couldn’t ask for much more; thanks guys!

Wayne did really fantastic work on the 352 engine rebuild for our 1958 Ford Thunderbird. I’d highly recommend the startup service having Wayne help us onsite at our shed, went above and beyond to get it purring like a kitten.

I brought a cylinder head in for resurfacing, they got it back to me quickly and for a lower cost than the estimate I was given on the phone. 3 weeks later and the engine is running excellently, with the head gasket having sealed properly

Had a lifter tick and oil pressure issue with my truck that I couldn't figure out so I took it to AER for diagnosis. Worked with Dewayne and have to say it was a great experience. Dewayne kept me updated throughout the teardown and notified me when he would find things. Very pleased with the experience and the work performed. Engine now runs like it's new. Highly recommend AER.

They where awesome. Even though they where busy they got my heads done in only 3 working days. They called an discussed pricing when they found an issue with the heads an where extremely reasonably priced. First class shop.

These guys are great! I had a problem that they could have made a few bucks on but instead they gave me good advice and even some material to help resolve my problem. I will be back here for bigger projects in the future.

My rebuilt engine has almost 4000 miles on it, and is running great.

Helped out on questions that he didn't have to answer and gave honest answers.

Currently brought my Dodge Truck here to install an engine after mine was diagnosed by AER with low compression, it was making a loud clacking noise as well that hinted at a larger problem. Discussed with front desk that I would be bringing in a crate/long block because don't trust junkyard used engines, and also wanted a warranty on parts and future labor, i said. The AER labor quote/estimate was a couple of hundred dollars above what I received from a competitor nearby, but because this shop rebuilds race car motors and more, I decided to keep my business here. The mech. and shop front desk were also very personable and friendly. Front desk jokingly assured me they would not 'rip me off'. The Engine arrived 4/12 and installation is underway a few days later.

Mechanic has so far said he would attempt to get as much done as possible or complete the job in the agreed upon estimated hours.

4/28 - Job should be complete on Monday 4/29. It looks like the mechanic was able to complete the job within the original estimate.

I will update the rating after a test drive.

4/30 - Job complete. The cost came in a few hundred above labor only estimate, and included some minor parts, oil and a few more hrs labor.

I've put 140 miles on the remaned engine and the vehicle runs well.

Update: 550 miles, oil changed and no engine related issues. All good.

Compared to some previous experiences with auto shops,
I believe AER has shown good will and effort and I will bump up my rating accordingly.

oh my God, do not go there. they agreed to do my engine rebuild for an estimated 850. then I got a quote back from them for 1765. granted they this was to bore it over 30 to, so the 850 should have gone upto 950 or so. at no time did they offer or acknowledge that this was an issue. my break up price to get my parts back was 350 buck. they were then offended that I wanted a break down on how they come up with 350. I am having the work done at another shop for around the price that we initially talked about. Bait and Switch

Gave them a Pontiac 400 to rebuild and wouldnt ya know the thing locked up with 8 miles on it after being just out of the timeframe warranty. $3400 down the toilet.

Motor sat there for month-and-a-half call them between a month-and-a-half calling today ask him if they could have it done by next month call delayed guy told me to come get my motor you don't want business

Dave The owner gave me the run around, is rude and arrogant and provides terrible customer service.
