Mike's Famous Chicken

So….WOW! Low-key awesome! We ordered the ‘Hot Mess’, and chicken fingers. The ‘Hot Mess’ was fresh French fries loaded with hickory smoked pulled pork (a generous portion), topped with Cole slaw. Just dump a couple containers of the Carolina sauce and you’ll have a magical experience. The chicken tenders were plump and tender. They were battered and fried just after we ordered. So crispy and hot. The owner (Mike) brought us a couple complimentary buffalo wings to try. They were delicious!

Outstanding! I have traveled and tried many fried chicken half the world in different cultures, but this Gem hidden in Fruita Colorado standout among the best fried chicken in the world, special mention of their mouthwatering Vinaigrette sauce that can go along either on your own salad, fried chicken, onion rings etc. The restaurant was clean and tidy! I love this place and their food particularly their Fried Chicken! Norma is the best Influencer of their sauces! Jaime, you guys did an amazing business! Always my Favorite every week ❤❤❤

THIS! Is the place to go for food in Fruita. Ok. To be fair this is the only place I have eaten in Fruita but compared to other chicken places this place is something special. The chicken is battered just before it is cooked. It is piping hot 18 Mins later when it hits the table. Be careful it's hot, seriously. The breading is awesome and unique.
Don't think it's just chicken. The owner is from one of the Carolinas and knows how to make BBQ. Try it.
They also do Ice Cream Sundays. We loved it.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐This place deserves a 5 star review 💯! Our service was exceptional!, The food was quick, fresh (we noticed, both of us, how fresh and yummy the salad was) my chicken parm sandwich was flavorful, huge, cooked perfectly and I ate every bite. The big mother clucker was just like it sounds ; big , crispy, not dry at all, chicken sandwich with fresh toppings! Family owned and it shows. We'll return every time we are back in town. Yum! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Absolutely fantastic fried chicken. So fresh and crispy. You can tell the batter is done after you order. Owner was great. We had a delicious meal here.

Hands down the best fried chicken I’ve ever had! You’ll be warned when order a couple times… it takes 20 minutes. The owners are a hoot and are laughing and cracking jokes with each other. Must go to when you are in Fruita- home of Mike the Headless 🐔

Cody and His family make every meal the best! They have great customer service and the food is to die for! Thank you for such a good evening and meal!

My only complaint is the fresh fried chicken is delivered to the table right from the fryer, too hot to eat, and it dares you with crispy hot goodness.
The cole slaw helps, the fries basket could serve 3 people.

I came all the way from California to try this place and it did not disappoint. The hospitality from the owner all the way to the cooks was so welcoming. Now to get to the food words can’t describe. Everything I tried was so tasty and freshly made right when ordered. 10/10 If you’re ever in town you have to stop by and try for yourself, won’t be disappointed!

We stayed in Fruita for our son's graduation from CMU and wanted to hit all of the locally owned restaurants while in Fruita.

WOW- Mike's Famous Chicken soon became our new favorite! Family owned and operated by folks who really care about your meal.

We ordered the chicken dinners with a couple of sides. They prepare your meal after you order, nothing sits under heat lamps, all served hot and fresh. Delicious! Family friendly and excellent service, we will be back!

Awesome family operated business! You can tell these people take pride in their work. Great food and great attitudes! We will definitely be back for more. We got too full the first time to order ice cream! Looking forward to our next visit!

Whoooo, boy, this was good! We had the chicken chips, a hot mess, and three different street tacos (split between two of us) and ate EVERY LAST BIT. The sauces, fries, flavorings, meat quality - all was top-notch and delicious. We will definitely be back!

Oh my goodness, we just happened upon MFC on our way from Moab to KC and we had an amazingly great lunch and experience! The food is delicious, all homemade, and the family is lovely!! This will be a stop on every trip to Moab!

My first time tonight after hearing about it on f/b. It was every thing I heard about..so good n my first time experiencing fresh warm croutons on salad n nice sized beets. Some of the best BBQ I've ever had. The owners were very nice.

My husband and I went to an early dinner and tried Mike's Famous Chicken for the first time, and it definitely will not be the last! We ordered a little bit of everything, brisket, pork, chicken, fries, slaw, etc. The service was outstanding and the food was excellent! Don't hesitate and go get yourself some Mike's Famous Chicken!!!

Just had to-go picked up from Mikes and I got the green goblin! Delicious!! The kids love the chicken chips. Always quality customer service at Mikes.

My Daughter is in love with chicken, fried, baked, shredded, tenders, patties, you name it - she loves it.

We were on a road trip and wandered through the fine town of a Fruita, CO. Fruita is a nice town that looks like it has dedicated itself unswervingly to mountain bike culture. I approve.

My Daughter picked lunch, and she chose Mike’s Famous Chicken. It looked like it had some good reviews. And the pictures look good, so we went for it.

WOW!!! Great chicken! This family-owned shop makes the best birds in Colorado. They take great care in preparation and serving of a great variety of dishes. We chose various combinations of tenders, tacos, and good old fashioned fried chicken. All were cooked to perfection and tasted light and delicious!

The fried chicken takes a bit longer then you might expect. This happens when the cook cares enough about the food to not batter or fry the bird until it is ordered. The meat is very fresh and this is reflected in the taste.

I recommend Mike’s above all else. It is now my primary stop when traveling from Colorado to Utah (or the other way around).

Go eat there.

The kids had the chicken with fries, I had a pulled pork sandwich. The chicken was real breast meat and delicious. The Little Mike pulled pork was also fantastic! Highly recommended for BBQ.

2022 Fruita Fall Festival whole staff is rocking it!
Under pressure and the food is amazing, highly recommend.
