Money Man Pawn

Saw some of the older reviews and wanted to write my own since I was just in there... Doug was amazing! Turned out he couldn’t help me but he was so kind, polite, professional and patient talking through things. Not a lot of inventory at the moment, but there was some really nicely priced jewelry so I will definitely be back if I have something else to sell or if I’m looking to make a jewelry purchase. The current manager Joseph has really seemed to turn things around. It's a friendly place to be and the products in my experience have been inspected well before being placed for sale. The staff is very knowledgeable. They do training at that store so the amount of knowledge from associate to associate may very. But find Joseph and he will have the answers

i have never have sold anything at this pawn shop so can't give anyone feedback on the pawning side of things.but when it comes to buying merchandise this is by far the best pawn shop in charleston.the prices are reasonable and if you buy multiple items the salepeople will work with you and cut you deals which makes me excited to frequently go to this store almost weekly and buy lots of stuff..courteous service is always given with a smile.i wish i could say the same thing for all the money man pawn shops in the area.i have been going to this pawn shop for over 8 years and spent lots of money with them and plan on continuing doing so

This is the best pawn shop in town. Justin and his team are knowledgable of their products and the prices are fair. They consistently keep quality products in their store.

Julie was great. Helpful on the phone when I called (unlike other locations) manager seemed pleasant here as well.

I say there good at what they do, people say bad reviews but honestly you need to look at it in their perspective, they have rules they follow too. I've never had a problem.

Friendly place, interesting finds

I've been here quite a few times. They have good customer service. I would expect most of the poor reviews to lacking context, however I cannot speak for everyone. My only suggestions would be to allow the use of credit cards and it would be nice if they had an app to allow customers to pay for layaway items, interest on loans, or to browse their products. I would shop here again.

Selling something to a pawn shop is already taking a hit on the full used value. But these people are simply incompetent. No wonder there’s literally nothing to purchase in the place. So you’re selling anything, don’t even bother going here. I had an offer for a $1000 camera at another pawnshop for $400. Decided to come here to check that offer and they wanted to give me $100 for it, I just considered a slap in the face. I’ve also been playing guitar for 20 years and brought a $2500 Guitar in i purchased in high school high school, and the woman thought she actually knew something about them and offered me $150 for it. Didn’t even realize the difference between a Mexican made Guitar and a US made one. She looked up that looked the same one online and said “see look these are made in America” but really it had the address of the company and right above that it said “made in Mexico.” Laughable. I wasn’t even really looking for the money just more so space and getting rid of things that I don’t use often. Still even if you need the money go elsewhere.

I wouldn’t sell a brand new ps5 here they might try to buy it off you for $200. The lady Cindy thinks she knows everything. If you come here don't make negotiations with Cindy you might end up not even selling your merchandise. She is guaranteed to make your merchandise seem undervalue and talk bad about even tho it’s brand new

These people at the money man are the most incompetent, lying, thriving people on the earth. Don't ever do business with these shady people.. I pawned a 30-06 rifle and they did everything in there power to steal it from me. Went to go pick it up and was told that the back ground system check was down. I said than call them , the smart@ss woman said they can't. Which was the first lie. Came back the next day system was up but they (the two stupid women behind the counter) said I missed a question on the paperwork which I didn't. Had to wait another day. So I go back to fill the paperwork out again they put a hold on me. I had to wait 4 days for the Brady law to take effect. Came back today the stupid dumb girl behind the counter said I would have to fill the paperwork out and wait another 4 days because they forgot to put jr. On my application. Which I did not forget on my end and filled it out correctly. It's like they're trying to hold my rifle hostage. Trying to get a $700 rifle for $200. Shady rip off people here and it's now my mission in life to shut these people down. I have never had a problem getting my rifle out of Pawn at Gene's Pawn Shop also the rifle is a one-owner gun I am the only person who's ever owned it. These people should be ashamed of their selves and I hope Karma comes back to bite them where the sun don't shine. Both incompetent women the blonde hair and black haired girl needs to be fired immediately. P.S. went and purchased another gun today as soon as I left your shop. Second Amendment look it up dummies. I hope and pray this pawn shop goes out of business.
