Muddy Waters Coffee Bar

This coffee shop is literally a hidden gem. The coffee is such good quality and the drinks are made absolutely perfect. Being from the west coast, I am a coffee snob and I am so impressed by this shop. 10/10 recommend!

I was heading out to the Angel Oak tree with my family. And we decided to stop and check out Muddy Waters Coffee Bar. This warm and inviting place has very friendly service. I ordered a black Americano, which was perfectly made. My family enjoyed their drinks as well. There is a spacious patio when the weather is good. I highly recommend Muddy Waters Coffee Bar!

The staff is incredibly sweet and efficient. They also have simply the BEST dirty chai in all of charleston (perhaps even SC). I live across town and anytime I’m by folly I have to stop in and grab something. Also just recently tried their food for the first time, the strawberry scone is incredible. You just can’t beat the atmosphere, quality and prices!!

Best coffee shop around. First of all, the coffee is high quality and tasty, & the size of the large, medium, and small actuality is that. So many local places offer a medium/large and its tiny as can be or they only have one size and it's small but the price reflects a large size (Huriyali etc) It's nice during these days of shrinkflation to actually get what you pay for and on point in taste/quality. The staff is always friendly and efficient. ❤

Amazing coffee! Got a vanilla cinnamon latte and it was delicious. The pricing is good. Love the music! Played Tame Impala when I was there. Very nice atmosphere.

Cute place with plenty of seating and outlets for getting work done. Plus, the coffee was amazing! They also have plenty of parking. Overall great experience and we will be back!

Stopped here for coffee before a long drive and had the most delicious iced latte I’ve had in a long time. Delicious, quick and they’ve got a cute inside with plenty of seating.

Staff is always polite and welcoming. Coffee is always made to perfection. Simply put, best coffee shop on James Island.

My favorite coffee shop, I try to go nowhere else! Coffee is so good, we brew the same brand (Counter Culture) at home! Service is awesome, we know each other by name and it’s like having a chat with friends when I go in. Very professional and super efficient. Their pastries are delish as well! You have to give them a try!!

I love Muddy Waters Coffee. Whenever I meet a friend there, my husband always has me grab him a coffee to bring back home! The lavender honey latte that I recently had was amazing!
Also, the indoor and outdoor seating options are great!

This coffee shop is so convenient for myself since I live within 5 minutes. I like it better than Starbucks because the coffee tastes like coffee and doesn’t have all that artificial nonsense. Just simple, good coffee. Also, they have lots of handmade, local crafts that are sold in the shop. Paintings, stickers, candles and jewelry.
This would also be a good location to study, not too noisy since there is only one barista and there are 3 tables with a bar near windows.
Downside of one barista, it’s one barista and there might be a line of 2 people in front of you to order.

Cute and quirky coffee shop! Super friendly staff and the fresh, made-to-order, barista coffee was delicious! Many different milk options and add ins for whatever your preference is. The shop inside also had lots of artisanal type items for purchase! Super cute place...would definitely come back!

We stopped by Muddy Waters Coffee Bar before visiting the nearby McLeod Plantation. The place looks inviting, the barista was friendly, the coffee was good, and the seating areas were cozy. I ordered a latte and it was quite flavorful and smooth. There is outdoor garden seating available for days when the weather is pleasant. We had a good experience and would return when in Charleston.

So glad I drove past! I tried Muddy Waters for the first time today and I’m so excited to return, will definitely come here all the time!!! It’s in the perfect location in between my commute to work, stopped by and enjoyed a bagel and a iced Chai today. The barista was so sweet and very helpful! Super cute spot!!!
