Sun's Eye Solar

We had them install our system in July of 2023. They were timely, quiet, professional, and cleaned up nicely afterwards. Their estimate was accurate. I wanted to wait through the rainy season before writing this review…no leaks! The Enlighten app is easy to use and to reset if one changes their router passcode. The black out panels look better on a shingled roof IMO. They left enough room around the margins so I can get up there to take care of moss/remove gutter debris. I have verbally recommended them to several others but believe they deserve wider exposure.

We’ve had solar from a Suns Eye Installation almost a decade now. It has worked out wonderfully, including when we had them back to remove it and reinstall it - for a fair price - for a new roof covering.

Sun's Eye Solar did a custom solar installation on my roof and they were wonderful. My house is a challenge to install panels on, but the crew made it happen. I'd highly recommend them.

Posting an update to my review from 2019. Back then, we had Sun's Eye Solar install 14 panels on my house in University Place, WA. In 2023, we decided to expand our system since we purchased an electric car and increased our electrical consumption. Dan from Sun's Eye Solar recommended the Rec Alpha 410 watt panel and we installed 8 of them. Our total installation is now 22 panels rated at 8,250 watts. Very happy with the installation and the support from Sun's Eye Solar! For example, earlier in 2023, one of the micro-inverters from the 2019 installation failed so two of the panels were not generating. Sun's Eye Solar promptly addressed the situation and replaced the micro-inverter under warranty. We continue to be very happy with the great team from Sun's Eye Solar!

Initial review from 2019: Can't say enough good things about the folks from Sun's Eye Solar. They were knowledgeable, provided me with a number of options, and their bid provided by far the best value. Since I wanted to have both solar generation and improved aesthetics for my house, they recommended all black LG panels on a low profile mounting rack. They look stunning! All of my neighbors have commented on how nice they look and we are very happy with the solar performance. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking into solar!

Brad walked us through every step of the project. He gave me a tip on finding a home loan for the solar installation. Their bid was very reasonable. Their work was excellent. They use local solar panels produced in Washington State. A year after the project was completed I asked a question and it was promptly answered.
the energy produced by our solar installation carried us into January of the following year with the net metering program.
Washington State is a great place to install solar in part because we tend not to have intense heat spells which can decrease the efficiency of panels.

We have nothing but great things to say about about experience with Sun's Eye. Our panels were installed on time. They handled all the communications with the City of Tacoma for the second meter, and paperwork to assure that our net metering was set up. It's also been a great learning experience, to see how much electricity we generate, even on cloudy days. And, the economic benefits have been terrific. We've paid for our system in three years.

Brad and crew did a great job installing our rooftop solar array in Tacoma. It was installed ahead of schedule and they took care of everything to help us make our own electricity.

My Sun's Eye solar installation has worked flawlessly for five and a half years, patiently waiting to wring every kWh it can grab from the free lunch passing over head. If I have any complaint, it is merely that I failed to have them install a larger system from the beginning. It will be on my roof quietly doing its thing for many years to come.

Called multiple companies for bids, nearly everyone brushed me off or couldn’t meet the dates I needed or cost, Suns eye solar came over immediately, made themselves available to install by my requested timeframe and above all else had the best bid by far compared to all the other companies that seemed highly rated. Can’t say enough good things about my experience, they’d be the only ones I’d recommend for solar installation.

The Pacific Northwest is not the most productive location for solar power generation system installations. We decided to invest in a solar power system for a number of reasons. One reason is to recognize the need to reduce the human footprint on our environment. Another reason is to offer a responsibility model for our grandkids who are rightfully critical of the environmental impact my generation has made. The economics of solar power tipped the decision scale for us.

We selected Sun's Eye Solar to install our PV system. Dan and Chris configured a 60 panel ground mount system where all of its components were manufactured in the US. This configuration has the capacity to generate 15.8 kWp. We opted to delay installation of a battery system until the technology matures a bit. Considering only the reduced PSE power bills, I believe this system will pay for our investment in about 9 years. While this projection was interesting, the real reason we decided to make this investment was the financial opportunity.

We happened to have stock market and savings investments to fund the solar system installation. This year our stock market investment has returned about 5% growth and our savings have returned about .5% interest. By moving our bank and stock market investments to our home we expect to realize a return on investment of 10% per year, or more. This expectation does not include any appreciation on the value of our home.

While we are just now seeing our power meter turn backwards, it is satisfying to know that we have made the right decision. I would recommend the Sun’s Eye Solar team to anyone considering a solar power system installation.

With incentives and rebates we've basically recouped our investment (Brad had said 5 to 7 yrs)
