Black Bear Diner Lakewood

This was a nice restaurant. The service was really good and the food was good too. Hubby had the burger, and I had the biscuit and gravy, and it was a huge biscuit. They have a cool looking wooden tank outside.

Really enjoyed this place. My wife and I had dinner food was good the potatoes were kind of salty and the fried steak wasn't as good as I thought it would be. Nice texture though and consistency was excellent flavor was just sort of not exactly something I was liking. That's why I gave four stars instead of five... Pancakes were very good

I come here at least every other week but I try to make it in once a week. Sometimes I go to other locations and it’s all very consistent no matter which one you choose. The food is generous and well prepared. You can tell its not microwaved prepackaged food. The staff is really friendly and outgoing and it’s obvious they work together well as a team. I get extra food so I can pack breakfast for work the next day as I’m a third shifter. It’s very awesome that these guys are open early and serving food that will actually fill me up after a hard nights work moving 10,000 pounds or more by hand. They’re affordable too. I basically order two meals every time and it’s about $30.

Excellent! 1st time here and will be back! Shout out for our server Jesus-very friendly, helpful and went out of his way to provide us excellent customer service! Food was great, large portions, right temperature and well plated. Had the Bigfoot Chicken Fried Steak w/red skin mashed potatoes with gravy and side of white cheddar mac and cheese & basil tomato soup with corn bread muffin. Wife had Pot roast w/red skin mashed potatoes and gravy, tomato soup and corn bread muffin. Followed up with huge piece of cheesecake covered with blue berries! All was top-notch! Our server made the entire meal very enjoyable..thank you Jesus! Will be back soon. Can't wait to try out breakfast with those biscuits! Right on Black Bear Diner!

Just went here and they were amazing! Our server Danielle was super friendly and very attentive. She was able to get my 3 year old (who is an incredibly picky eater) to actually get excited about eating eggs. I forgot to order gravy on the side and the manager fixed it for me without an extra charge. 10/10 will be coming here again

Came in for lunch the other day and was not disappointed. Food was good with huge portions but our server, James, really made the experience. Very attentive and helpful when it came to what I should order. Wasn’t too in your face when you just want to eat but came by with refills without asking, which is always a plus in my book.

I absolutely love eating breakfast here! The service is always perfect. Not only for my table but when I observe, I see the waitresses address customers by name which tells me they are Returning. The food is always delicious. My children and I love it. We try to come here at least once a week. We love the fact that breakfast is served all day.

We enjoyed Everything. We went swimming that morning so appetites were high lol Our hostess was polite kind & Very approachable, she recommended different dishes & her interactions were brief & helpful. The food came out fast, the atmosphere was family friendly. Price range for family of four with desert was under $100. Military Discount. We will definitely be back!

Our server was so delightful and attentive. I did not catch their name, but they wore fun, stylish glasses with green frames and had curly hair. Thank you for taking care of us, you deserve a raise <3

Black Bear Diner in Lakewood, Washington is an absolutely wonderful restaurant. The manager Stacy and her staff are absolutely amazing. Our server Venessa was superb and we always enjoy sitting in her section. Everyone is professional, friendly, and caring. The service was excellent as always and so was the food. The food was made specifically to order and it was done well. We come to the Black Bear weekly and would recommend it to anyone. Thank You Stacy and your entire staff!!!!

Every time I come here Vanessa is the best server I’ve ever had!!! She’s always so sweet and fast!

I've eaten at the Black Bear diner in Federal Way several times and it was always good. The Lakewood location was no exception. It was right before the holidays and Santa was near the hostess stand waiting to greet us. They surprisingly had family friendly hip hop music playing throughout which was a nice surprise and the whole atmosphere felt festive and fun, even thought the weather was terrible out. The food was spot on and the service was wonderful. This is diner food at its finest. You can't go wrong with the fried chicken or the chili! Get out to your nearest black bear diner and get you some down and dirty comfort food with a smile!

If you get a chance to go to this location, ask for Raul. He is a great hostess/server. Great attitude great personality, very attentive, and made me feel very welcomed.Before I left I seen them accommodate a party of eight including a baby. And I thought that was pretty awesome. It’s a very clean very calm diner.The other staff seem nice as well. The food was pretty good.the portions are big I have never been here before today. The biscuits are humongous. Take a look at the picture, but other than that. It was a really nice place great atmosphere and it’s literally in the same parking lot as the casino. That’s in Lakewood you have to look closely or you will miss the turn.

This place is so cozy. The warm atmosphere, the hard-working employees who are making sure that customers are being tended to, food's being served, tables are getting wiped down, and the quality of the food is what sets them apart. I also received great service from my server, James. He is attentive and empathic. Today was a hard day, and his presence made my night better. I would also like to add that the staff here has been consistently wonderful. Aside from the food, they're the reason I keep coming back. This is one of my favorite spots in Washington. I highly recommend this location to dine out!

This place was great! This was my first time here and I had the chorizo burrito with a strawberry shake. I'm walking out sideways!! Everything was very tasty and the server was awesome!

I have lived in the Lakewood/Tacoma area for a while,and knew that Black Bear Diner was here but just never had visited—I think that has something to do with the location…I’d seen the sign for years but never saw the building.

I’m sad that we waited so long to find the place(and it wasn’t hard or anything). The food was excellent and the portion sizes are great. Great value for the money! We’ve always had good service which we appreciate.

We love their pesto salmon, it is delicious and a great low carb/keto option for those who care about that.

Food is great! Service is great as well! There are days when I get a waitress/waiter that isn’t very attentive but the manager (I believe) makes up for it all the time! The picture is the Joe’s Hobo omelet with the biscuit and hash browns! Very good ᵕ̈ the bear that walks around the restaurant is quite awkward but it’s hilarious! We love that bear! He made it to our table 6+ times in the hour we ate there! Haha! Love this restaurant for casual dining!

The food is SOOO good! Homemade taste with large portions but not too much, my entire family was able to finish their plates. The pesto salmon was amazing, the green beans had bacon & onions, YUM!

Our server Shelly was amazing. She checked on us often did not forget anything and anticipated things we would need that we didn't think k about. Best server we have ever had at Black Bear.
The food was super good. Fresh and hot really good fries. I had the patty melt it so so good juicy and great flavor.

I've been to numerous black bear dinners, and the food has been different at them all. But the one in lakewood WA seems to be the best for breakfast. I had the 5oz chicken fried steak, which was cooked perfectly, and my wife had the chicken sausage scramble, just perfect for her.
