My elderly dog was found and brought to this rescue by an amazing couple. She was missing for several hours and overnight. They took such good care of her and she was safe and healthy. I don’t have the words to express my gratitude. May everyone there and those who found her be blessed 10000000x and more. I will never forget this day.

They take wonderful care of the animals at PARL. Some people have complained about the cost of adoption, but truly for what they do for the animal before you adopt it, the cost is minimal. Every animal is spayed or neutered, has a microchip inserted and has had a thorough examination with vaccines from a veterinarian. Also, they give out coupons for a free initial examination when you take the animal to your personal vet. All of this for an adoption fee of $150 to $250, which is far below the price of what all these medical procedures would have cost if you did it through your own vet. Plus you are saving a life, gaining a new family member and supporting a worthy charity.

There’s no words to truly express how grateful I am for Parl. Not only are their staff amazing but they offer us in a they offer us in an affordable, pet clinic, but their pet food pantry has helped me more than you’ll ever know. There’s never no judgment or questions of why I can’t continuously take care of my fur babies on my own. Whenever I am in need, they greet me with a smile on their face. I am truly grateful for those who donate to the center in order to help people like me, as well as all the animals that they help here in Providence. God willing I’ll be able to be blessed enough to return the favor to them so they can continue to do the amazing what they do. With lots of love, Taja

My wife and I went there to investigate adopting a puppy. I don't know whether we will get the puppy that we want, but they are always more that need a home. The staff at PARL were great. It shows in the dedication they have to the animals in their care.

I absolutely love this place. Was able to get my cat fixed and her shots for such a low cost. I would've only been able to get one of the things somewhere else for the price. When I felt something was wrong with my cat's suture after she had healed up, I brought her in. Not only did they explain to me what was going on, but they also didn't charge me for the visit because she was healing nicely. Turns out it was just itchy because it was finally done healing and she was biting at it. Causing irritation and redness, so they gave me an e-collar for her. My cat didn't appreciate the cone, but I sure did! Couldn't thank them enough honestly. I was so happy to see representatives at Pride, getting a cute kitten adopted and getting donations by selling waters. The beautiful service dog was a plus!

UPDATE 2022: she’s still suspicious of everything but is the best Black Friday cat we will ever have. She’s a complete cuddle bug.

We just picked up the newest member of our family at PARL over the Black Friday weekend. Her name is Lumos and she is super suspicious of everything, but was darling when we met her in a place she was comfortable in. The staff were great in helping us get her home and we can’t wait to see her adapt to her new forever home.

I got my baby girl maybe about 8 months ago. I went in for another cat but lucky for him got adopted. I was however still interested. I was only interested in adopt an adult or senior. Kitten get adopted easily. I asked about the longest resident that I could adopt. They pointed me toward Boo. Been there a 1-2 months and was a little depressed. She wasn’t eating her food (not their fault). I took her right away well a couple hours later I was unable to get her in that moment. 30 minutes after brining her home she head butting me. She knew she was home and that she found someone to annoy.
The place is clean the staff is helpful and answer any questions you have. I go and visit the animals. I might not be interested but they don’t mind. I love how some cats (not all mostly likely not all) you can open the cage and get to know them. The dog kennel you can give them treats.

Please consider adopting an adult/senior cats. They may not be young but they have a lot of love to give. They just need someone to love them back.

PARL made the adoption process for my sweet Calli girl so easy and efficient. Other places require several references, background checks, etc but PARL personalizes it by having an actual conversation with you! I’m absolutely in love with my new ray of sunshine!

Adopted my first cat ever from PARL. I walked in not knowing much, but two hours later I walked out with the love of my life - Batman! The staff are quite friendly and helpful, as I left feeling confident that I had made the right choice.

The shelter is also well kept and cleaner than many others I have been to.

PARL even included a free exam certificate which I was able to use at the Riverside Animal Hospital.
