Chris is a fantastic instructor. He's very proficient, able to relate material and techniques in plain language that is easy to digest, and most of all he is a fantastic teacher. He very quickly finds ways to help each individual student to best succeed, considering not everyone learns the same way. I've trained with Chris for a number of years now and he has lead me to other instruction. He is also a continual and constant student. I've personally seen where Chris learns something new, and modifies his curriculum to best reflect current and best practice, or at the least just adds another tool to the toolbox for students to utilize.

Chris is good dude and personal friend. I’ve taken multiple classes both from him and with him as a fellow student. He’s constantly taking classes himself to stay relivent and does demos in his classes to demonstrate proficiency. He’s very skilled at relaying information and making you a better shooter. His classes are an outstanding value and on par with any of the big name, nationally recognized instructors I’ve taken classes from.

Took two day Red Dot class with Chris and enjoyed it thoroughly. I learned so much and felt I got the individual attention I needed despite there being other people in the class. He is very safety oriented and very knowledgeable. He teaches in an easy to understand manner and is very patient allowing you to repeat a process to get it right. Would highly recommend him.

I've taken the Red Dot class from Chris Hill, he is teaches a very thorough class, he covers all aspects but most importantly he makes sure everyone is safe. The class starts with a complete safety briefing as well as assigning roles in the event of an accident.

Exactly what you would expect from a professional instructor. I appreciate the fact that he conducts a safety brief with the 4 safety rules in the beginning of his instruction, as many often gloss over this part. Chris demonstrates all the techniques and drills and spends time explaining them so there is no confusion. The training is serious, but very fun. I have taken handgun and carbine instruction from Chris and would highly recommend him to anyone else. From no skill to advanced, he can help.

In a society where people claim to be proficient instructors Mr. Hill shines as one of the most respected in Florida. He provides accurate and applicable techniques in his training. Don't trust your life to anyone else, and if you haven't taken at least one class to try it I highly recommend doing so.

Chris was incredibly professional and spent the first 10 minutes making sure I understood not only gun safety for the range but for general practice purposes as well. His instruction was concise and he made sure that I went through all the steps to being proficient but also safe. Would highly recommend.

Chris at Thunderbolt Defense is a great teacher who is dedicated to his work. He was the first person I took a class from, and my abilities increased exponentially. I have taken classes with him to improve my skills in USPSA style shooting, CCW and personal defense classes, as well as rifle classes.

Chris prioritizes safety and a high standard of training for his students. He makes the class fun and interesting, and coaches people individually based on their skill level and what they require work on. He focuses on real world application of using a firearm, not just what looks good on camera.

If you are looking for good training and a fun time doing it, I highly recommend taking one of his classes, no matter what skill level you are. You may think you are a great shooter but shooting with Chris will show you just how much better you can be.
