Mexican Fruits LLC

There is always someplace that you walk past 100 times before you decide to finally walk into. This is one of those places.

There was a steady stream of workers ordering food and local residents picking up fresh fruit and other products.

In general the produce looks exceptional and at great prices. There were also dried chilies that were such a value I bought more than I will need in a year.

All in all this is a great shop, it may not look like much from the outside but we never judge a book by its cover.

Super friendly staff and lots of hard to find Mexican kitchen staples. Good quality produce super cheap, plan to use it promptly.

Good inexpensive grocery store that has Hispanic staples. Small but close to the Union Market area.

Not only are the fruits and groceries fairly priced but it’s honestly *one of the only places* that actually has affordable hot meals in the whole area. The Tamales are hella good 😌

If their landlord raises their rent and prices them out I will riot. Or at least tell all my neighbors and local orgs to support them and shame the landlord. It’s happened to too many good places recently

Excellent customer service! I was looking for different kinds of dried chiles and they had a huge variety. They weren't labeled and I didn't know how to tell them apart but Martha helped me find each one that I needed and then handwrote labels for each bag. She was super friendly and I even learned a bit about Mexican cuisine from her. I'll definitely be back if I need more ingredients for Mexican dishes!

I am only speak for the candied fruit that I bought there a week ago - ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!!!!!! the place is a whole in the wall, and I got what I needed since it was close to the entrance. We had heard that candied fruit was sold here - the have figs in one box and combination of other fruit in another. I have NEVER have figs as fresh as the ones sold at these store. The staff was super nice and helpful - the place itself was pretty crazy since it was a saturday and they sell tons of other stuff. We are going back for the fruit - the fresh tomatoes that we saw looked pretty awesome too.

Practically every Mexican ingredient you can think of is available here.

This reminds us of home so much we get emotional.

Very traditional Mexican products and excellent service. I was able to find a big variety of dry peppers that are not available in other places, like: guajillo, ancho and morita.

Only place in DC that has good papaya! they also carry other yummy fruits and veggies at great prices. They have Mexican and other latin american items... try the Ducal refried beans 👌🏼
