What a meal! From the perfectly balanced menu to the attentive service from Paul.

Pro:
- buratta (must have, amazing moose/base)
- oysters
- service (extremely attentive and not over bearing)
- drink selections
- balanced menu options
- quiet
- romantic

Con:
- i know they converted the old lobby into this restaurant, it does give off the lobby feel still. But they did a good job
- bathroom is outside the restaurant down one floor, down the hallway. Not self explanatory at all.
- Price while some dishes justify the price tag some did not.

My pictures will not do this place justice. It was fantastic and it was a must return!

This place exceeded all expectations. It was such an amazing experience. Quiet, not rushed, superior service. The dinners we had were spectacular! It was the first dinner night of our trip, should have saved it for last bc everything after was a disappointment LOL.

I had my birthday breakfast at The Greenhouse in DC. I ordered the Banana Chocolate Chip Pancakes. 🥞 These were fluffy, not too sweet, not too 'chocolately', and the banana on the top was glazed with crystalized sugar ..mmm.. Just right for me. The staff was friendly, too. Overall a pleasant experience. 🙌💗

I got the private room with my friends, and really enjoyed the brunch here. The three-egg omelet was delicious with the chicken sausage and the cheese, but I do wish that tomatoes were offered as a topping. It would give a nice acidic taste to the omelet. The servers were very nice and offered to take pictures for my party. The aesthetic here is also really nice. Overall, highly recommend for brunch.

Highly recommend this place. It was like walking into a fantasy set. I let them know through open table that it was my husband and I anniversary. After 11 years of marriage we wanted to go to some place. Nice. They had us in this nice little booth ahead of chandelier. Look like it was something out of beauty and the beast with the faux book shows. Also, the different areas made you look like you're walking through a castle with the fountains and the giant floral arrangements. Food is super flavorful. It is like a classical French cuisine with a different stock reductions. Highly recommend. Also they just don't do classical French. There is parts of gastronomy and everything else highly recommend. The servers are very well versed in everything that is on the menu including the wine list.

This is a lovely quiet and intimate dinner spot! Went with a friend for dinner and the service was excellent. The food was delicious, although the fish was a bit bland the other dishes were amazing flavors! I recommend this spot.

Stopped by for a quick lunch with my mom. We were welcomed and seated well + it was nice that they provided small stools so we can put down our handbags there. Nice place and food was great. I might have ran over the lunch hour but no one rushed us to finish our time. I will come back again for dinner menu. :)

I enjoyed dinner here during my birthday vacation. Service and the meal completely exceeded my expectations, everything was prepared excellently and you can taste the executive chef's passion in every dish served and the service staff's commitment in providing you with a good experience is made obvious. The sommelier went above and beyond during my meal to make sure I was enjoying everything beyond the bottle of wine he opened for me.

Underrated brunch in DC, in a landmark setting. The service is important. The menu is better than expected with multiple egg options, most of them unique. The Jefferson Benedict (with lobster meat) is incredible and the Vegetarian Croque Monsieur is fantastic. Also on the brunch menu is a great Burger. Even the Banana Chocolate Chip Pancakes have a unique flavor. In essence, you're not getting run-of-the-mill flavor here.

The staff here is experienced and can easily take care of a large party. The good came out on time, the coffee comes nicely hot and the juice is fresh. I highly recommend for locals and visitors alike. Understated brunch that has the flavor and the elegance, with an excellent experience in a nice setting.

A return to quiet elegance...
The Greenhouse is fine dining for Brunch or Lunch. It felt so nice to enjoy a brunch that wasn’t rushed, or had me waiting 45+minutes to be seated. From the fine China to the very attentive staff and quiet ambiance The Greenhouse at the Jefferson Hotel will briefly make you feel as though you aren’t in Washington, DC but maybe a lovely summer home of a friend overlooking the river. The meal I selected was rather simple and traditional waffles with fresh fruit. They were prepared well not too crunch and definitely not to soft. Too much cream butter and a glaze over the strawberries were the only things I found lacking. But everything else was just perfect . Plenty of hot coffee served in slightly larger cups and a beautiful table sitting. I would recommend The Greenhouse to anyone who appreciates a slightly old school style dining experience. It made me glad I was up on all things Emily Post. (aka dining etiquette).

Walking I to the place is like walking into a fairy tale. The place is absolutely amazing with many nooks so that most of the tables feel very private. At some point looking at the little jars with jams on the table in that setting reminds you of a tea party from Alice in Wonderland. The service is phenomenal even though confused the waiter for a security at first, but I guess this makes the place special as well. And of course the food is amazing as well, everything tastes amazing and fresh.

The food is great, but the experience is what wow’d me the most! Wonderful ambiance, very cozy and not pretentious, and they give you a tiny upholstered foot stool for your purse!! We had tons of fun.

Elegant experience, tasty food. Went in for brunch and place is 1) more beautiful than expected and 2) cheaper than expected. Great pick if you want to go have a nice talk + meal in somewhere iconic, fancy and affordable. Highly recommended that you reserve beforehand.

We had booked for 50th birthday brunch for 8 gals. The ambiance was beautiful.

Food- Most of us were vegetarians. There were ample vegetarian options but limited vegan options.
My favorite:
Vegetarian Croque Monsieur
Baby Spinach Salad
Avocado Toast
Side orders: Sautéed Seasonal Mushrooms
Roasted Breakfast Potatoes
Mimosa / Bellini

Okay:
Banana Chocolate Chip Pancakes
Fresh Berry French Toast
Basket of Breakfast Pastries

We had 1 PM sitting and the kitchen closes at 1:30 PM. We had to rush to order everything. However, they let us sit back and enjoy the afternoon until 3:30 PM.

It is an expensive but incredible experience to celebrate a special event.

We had the best dining experience in The Greenhouse. No detail was left unturned. Service was impeccable and the decor so inviting from the bright greenhouse overhead daylight to the gorgeous tropical flowers throughout. The food was excellent. We had three different offerings for brunch. The omelette was yellow, fluffy and perfectly cooked — not the big brownish eggs filled with “stuff” you find in many places. Jacques Pepin would be proud. The French toast was savory and delicately sweet and, the burger was just the right size, cooked to the requested medium rare and served on a brioche bun, fries were crispy on the outside and tender and fluffy on the inside. The quality of the food and the perfection in which it was prepared, demonstrated the chef and kitchen staff took time to turn out beautifully executed food. Champagne and cappuccino topped off our meals. Highly recommend.

What a hidden gem!! Both the service and the food was outstanding! Never even knew there is such a pretty and beautiful atmosphere in this well known and respected hotel. The servers took extra care to make sure we have everything we needed and was one step ahead of us. I m really glad we came here for brunch with some old friendz. I had the lobster Benedict for 32 dollars and they gave me a lot of lobster which made it worth the price. Nice mimosa and I know for sure most restaurants are stingy with their seafood so I m glad they didn’t cheap out. The drinks were good and I m very happy and full leaving the restaurant!!
