Mayfield Dairy Tours

I love doing the tour and absolutely enjoy the ice cream when I’m passing through on vacation. The best ice cream and milk in my opinion. We don’t have a Mayfield Dairy in Louisiana but I can’t wait for it to make its way done there.

I'm a big fan of anything Mayfields so my husband and I took the tour. It was very educational and interesting even to us older folks! Highly recommend...and of course I love the yellow jug!!!!💛

We arrived after 3:30 so we were too late for a tour but the folks we interacted with were great and the creamery is amazing with flavors you can't get elsewhere.

Enjoyed the tour and a ice cream afterwards. They even gave our dog a pup cup

Did this tour with my family and had a excellent experience. Toured throughout the factory seeing everything from how they make the plastic jugs to filling all the different jugs and containers with milk and ice cream. At the end of the tour you get your choice of any flavor of ice cream in a cup or cone for free.

Moooove over, I want some of that excellent ice cream!! Although ownership has changed over the years, they've kept the name which is oh so familiar here in eastern TN and fortunately, the quality.
Take the tour (it's free!) if you haven't already but be absolutely sure (unless lactose intolerant....sorry) to have some of their ice cream that's part of the gift shop. You won't be disappointed!
Lots of interesting gifts to shop for, but I had to have the classic brown and yellow logo t-shirt (ok, I already have one of the metal signs and a thermometer....).
Don't forget to take out-of-town family and friends too. They'll have a good time (get their picture with Maggie the giant cow) and see a classic part of Athens history!!

Ignore the reviews saying this place is closed. As of 8/12/2022 they are most definitely open! The people who work here are so nice and their outdoor courtyard is dog friendly. The ice cream is amazing!

The tour was very interesting, and the ice cream was incredible. I had the strawberry, it was so good.

Great place for school field trips. Informative on the milk production process and it's history. Nice little gift shop and the staff members are polite and courteous to everyone.

Took my nieces to see Santa and Maggie the moo cow. They have amazing ice cream and a great gift shop.
