We went to Walnut Ridge to view the total eclipse and were pleasantly surprised to find Cross Ties Diner. We had pulled pork BBQ sandwiches that were spot on. The staff was more than friendly and accommodating. If you are in the area, we highly recommend giving them a try.

This is the old Ditto's restaurant building. Double cheeseburger with fries were good. Burger was a little on the small side compared to other joints, but was great fresh quality and taste. The combo comes with a drink and runs $11. Service was fast and food was hot, I got there right at lunch. They have a small deli section for freshly cut sandwiches as well.

Walnut Ridge lies immediately north of Hoxie. The two towns form a contiguous urban area with approximately 8,000 residents. Williams Baptist University is in College City, a formerly separate community that merged into Walnut Ridge in 2017. source
