My brother's and I chartered a trip with the Tallent Guide service for a fishing trip for Father's day. We met at 4:30 am and had an amazing day! We did run into a little bad luck in getting 5 to 6 stripe to the boat edge before they decided not to take a boat ride! Eddie was an amazing guide and I can't wait to take another trip again!

Grider Hill is a great boat dock on the Cumberland Lake that offers so many services that will make your lake and boating experience all that you want it to be. Perched on the hill behind the dock are accommodations that will allow you to stay near the dock and also have both a beautiful and expansive view of the lake. Every person that I met was friendly and the staff on the dock were eager to help in anyway possible! As Always, Enjoy

Four of us went on a charter fishing trip for stripers and had a fantastic time. Our guide was a pleasure to be with and we each got a fish.

It’s been ages since I’ve been there. But we started going in early 80s & went for at least 20 some years. Seems like we got there around lunch time or later. The lunches were first class and desert was to die for. I was with people who loved to eat and the peanut butter pie was the best. We would eat a whole one and then some. My kids even loved it. The whole place was so cozy. The pictures I can remember today of the lake being almost as high as the restaurant and lodge. The fishing pictures were nice too. If you’ve never been there it’s worth the ride or drive to go The Hill. I live in Sarasota but I’m looking for property or a houseboat to have for the summertime. So I plan on coming back to this Oasis.

First visited GRIDER Hill Marina 1967-1968. Definitely my happy place. Beautiful Lake Cumberland. One of the best kept secret spots on the whole lake. Enjoyed taking my young children in the 60's and all my grandchildren since. Has changed hands several times since I started going there. Some owners better than others. But the allure of the size and beauty of the lake itself more than makes up for any deficiency in management.

We love this place! This will be our 3rd vacation renting their houseboats and we've been nothing but happy with all of our experiences with them. Employees are so friendly. Prices are affordable. We will continue to be Grider Hill customers.

I just returned from a week renting a houseboat from Grider Hill and I'm inclined to write this review since I was concerned about what I'd experience after reading reviews from others before my trip. In our group were 3 adults in our 40s, 4 kids aged 8-13 and one 60lb bloodhound. We rented August 17-23, 2014. Our experience with Grider was fantastic and I'm glad to report we didn't experience any of the negative things others have experienced. This could be because we were outside the dates of their most busy time of the Summer. Everyone employed by or associated with Grider was very friendly and helpful, especially the dock guys who prep the boats and get you ready to leave the dock. We stopped into the dock a couple times during the week with questions and to refuel and top off our water tanks and the guys were friendly, very helpful and quick to get us back on the lake. We rented a 70' houseboat and it was cleaner than I anticipated and very comfortable. Everyone in our party agreed the vacation was amazing and something we definitely intend to do again with Grider.

I've eaten in a lot of restaurants. This restaurant has some of the best food I've ever had. Everything is locally grown or raised and never ever frozen. I love the farm to table concept.

Close to the water and you can stay just one night if needed unlike another marinas on the lake. Lodge is rustic with small rooms but clean and serves its purpose.
